External views won't let me back into cockpit view

When I use a key such as External View (F2) or External Flyby (F3), I can't get back into the cockpit/Inside view (F1 or Alt F1).

I've checked and re-checked my key bindings looking for an error or conflict, and tried alt-tabbing out and back in, to no avail. All other key bindings work fine.

Even exiting and re-entering the mission does not help. Only restarting the mission does any good.

(The above also prevents me from entering the cockpit of other aircraft to take them over.)

Any suggestions?

I used to have this same problem, but now I can't remember at all what exactly fixed it. The problem disappeared somewhere along the time I was changing and rechanging every single setting in the game, it seemed.

I know it happened when I had the various views mapped to a joystick hat. Now I use the F2 F3 etc. keys and the problem is corrected. But a lot of other things changed too.

I fixed the problem I was having - the .cmc file for my CH Control Manager software had two conflicting entries for "External view". I deleted one of them and all is now good.
