I am having an issue where every single time I fly, launcher.exe locks up. The game runs smooth as silk with my settings as they are (high on most everything), but will suddenly lock up when flying (it will still continue playing sound, and sometimes I'll crash if I let it go). Usually it will let me get about 10-15 minutes of flying, and then locks up. The temperature looks good on my GTX 470, processors load and temp look good... I don't know what could be making this happen. I've tried playing it on my TV and on my monitor, same problem both ways, adjusting the resolution and everything. Any ideas?

err well that may be it then. I'm running 32 bit Vista.

Before I go buying a new OS, was his acting similarly? Running fine and then just stopping the visuals after about 15 min of play, while still playing sound?

Thanks for your help Cheesehawk! I decided I didn't want to fold on the graphics (especially with the money I put into my processor and Video card not too long ago), so here comes a bit more memory and 64 bit Win 7.

I'm not so sure it's a Win 7 32-bit issue, simply for the reason that I was running the 32-bit OS a while ago and the game was just fine. (4GB Ram at the time.)

Jumping to 64-bit makes a lot of sense, but all I'm saying is that in my experience running the 32-bit version shouldn't pose any issues.

interesting thread this, as I'm a fellow sufferer of launcher exe lock ups/crashes. I still have no clue as to fix my troubles either....

Sharp, what OS are you running, and how much memory? It seems that Launcher.exe problems are normally related to being under-spec (but don't go by the posted minimum specs, they appear to be wrong). Looks like the game really needs 4+gb to run, and non-supported video cards are hit and miss (hell, even the supported ones have bugs in them).

Also, make sure the the Microsoft NET Framework has been updated, I'd use the actual MS one, not the Steam/disc update.

win 7 home 32 bit. That means I have 3.25 out of 4 gigs available. And thanks for the tips.

hmm, interesting development.

I'm pretty sure it's not my hardware causing the problem now.

I have had a couple more of the same type launcher exe failures. In one case there was also a report of an error of microsoft's Virtual CC+.

so now I'm wondering what version does Clod need? and how I would need to check what I'm running

Clod comes with the Visual Basic library. It installs it upon installation. It is in the redist folder in you main Clod directory.

hmmm, the plot thickens.

I just got that report again. AFTER I ran the repair option of VBL from within the steam folder....
