The July 19, North American release.
Do I still need to download the patch I see in the forums?
Thanks in advance.

Since Drool didn't say in his post and since I never like to assume anything, I bought the DVD version at Best Buy and it installed just fine. And steram seemed to do it's thing. Does this mean I have the latest patch also? Normally I can tell in Properties, but then, this IS Steam isn't it?

Hi,
concerning steam/COD installation:
3 short questions:
1.) I guess, the Steam programme is included on the COD DVD and it gets autoamtically installed when running the COD DVD for the first time?
2.)all I need is to have an registered account on steam, the rest happens during installation and steam auto patch afterwards ??
3.) which drive/folder is the preferrable drive to install COD, to run it best on Win 7 64??

Gdday... got my copy at a local Auchan mall... not installed yet. 50 Euro... tough price, but eh... Gotta move on from Il-2. 10 years for a game is enough...
dont like this steam stuff, cause my Connection maxes out at 16kB/sec with frequent connection losses.
Is okay for activation of software, but online gaming aint possible.
there a way to grab the patches off some server at some other place (internet cafe @350kB/s), AND prevent Steam to mess/funk up with my game after i installed the latest updates?

Official patches are only available through the Steam download.Beta patches can be downloaded and installed manually. When they become official Steam will download and overwrite the beta.
Steam is needed for online play.
