Everyone who likes ground attack missions is invited to beta-test a sample groundwar mission from a member of the dev team. This a basic sample mission creating an ongoing ground war which you can influence supporting your ground troops from the air. The mission can be played as single-player, as a coop or as a dogfight mission.
Mission files and description can be found here http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpost.php?p=307600&postcount=9
Please report bugs in this thread where you can talk to the author directly http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=68629&p=1647624&viewfull=1#post1647624

I tried it online and I can't find any ground troops.
I saw them one time by using CTRL + F2 but as I want to look at them a second time they stuck in the ground or so, they were not visible but I heard them.
I think the area is much too big.

Ataros, can you help me out with this one?
I've installed the files into D:\Users\Broadsword\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\missions\Multi\Dogfight
Then started a server, loading the MF_any2 mission.
The fronts appear on the map, but no option to join a side/select a plane etc. I've tried it in the FMB, but same thing (just the fronts - no aircraft objects etc)
I'm a total n00b - What am I doing wrong?

If you are a host hit a button titled smth like "Begin/start battle" first in the right low corner.
Select side by clicking a flag in the right top part of screen. Then select airfield and aircraft to create.
If you can not see flags probably you have "side switching (or selection)" turned off in difficulty settings.
Join Repka #2 to see how it should work.
There are some known bugs in the mission, e.g. not all 4 tank groups are spawned properly however some people already have great results with it http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpost.php?p=307949&postcount=10
I hope more advanced missions will come very soon.
Thank you all very much for testing and your patience.
¡No pasarán! :)

This sounds really good! Guess we'll need team members in Tiger moths as observers calling in ground attack missions!
Cheers!

Hi Ataros
Small test, I selected a Hurricane and I appeared inside a hangar. So far so good, but when I opened the throttle the aircraft was very slow.
No wonder: I checked externals and all my tail was missing.
No idea what happened, no one else was in the server.

Thanks for feedback. i reported the issue. The reason is probably a strong wind turning aircraft inside a semi-open hangar.

Thanks for the reply - that fixed it. I had all the boxes checked for switching and selection - unchecking let me select a plane :)
One thing I noticed was that the groups of vehicles always travel in a column. If possible, could it be scripted in so that when they engage an enemy unit, they change formation into a V (arrowhead) or line (abreast) to effectively put more fire down.
Maybe they could change formation based on whether they are in enemy territory too, like going from a column into a V (arrowhead), which is used when in unsafe off road terrain (as far as I know).
I've done some scripting for Arma 2, so wondered if similar things are possible here.
It's a small point, but I thought I'd mention it. Good mission though, nice showcase of what's possible in the game :)

Don't know if it is possible now.
