I have to be Honest. I have been a HUGE "dont worry it will get fixed" proponent but this is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS! They changed the planes to where they BLOW their engines if they SLIGHTLY go over RPM, but then you can cant hear you F ing engine. Guess what thats a DEAL BREAKER. How that isnt #1 issue to fix this week. I have no idea. It really makes me start to wonder What the hell the teams priorities are.
1C this is ULTRA frustrating, and until that is fixed you have one less patron, and worse than that, I am telling everyone that asks, that your product is in an unplayable state and not to waste their money. Until you get this product to a playable level thats the way it will stay.

I have it, though today (after patch) it came and then went away for a while (10 mins) and then cut out completely. System below in sig.

This sound bug is something of a gamebreaker I agree. After upgrading to an nVidia GTX 580 and now getting reasonable fps I find my engine sound goes off not long into a mp game. I wonder if setting the sound output in Windows Sound configuration down to a lower setting like 16bit 44100hz would make any difference ?
Will have to try it out tomorrow.

Hi.
After the latest patch v.1.02 I got the sound bug. The sound goes off and on, off and on and then the screen goes black! I get the image back pressing esc and fly again on multiplayer server. it makes flying on mp servers impossible! :(

Since things are moving slowly among you gentlemen, may I recommend to you to try to find what all of you with the sound bug have (or have not) in common?
For example:
#1 Is anybody having the sound bug and has NVIDIA GPU + on motherboard soundcard?
#2 Is anybody having the sound bug and has NVIDIA GPU + External soundcard?
My two cents...

ATI and i got it, also i realised it knocks the sound out fully in the game you have to fully exit the game and start it up again.

But it seems to me that nobody until now has the sound bug using NVIDIA and the motherboard soundcard...

Thanks IvanK,
yes I noticed that also 303_Tees has the same configuration.
So what is left now is to see whether
ANYBODY HAVING THE SOUND BUG and has NVIDIA GPU + MOTHEBOARD SOUNDCARD?
It may be a lucky guess and then at least it is easier to re-produce the error (and hopefully fix it).
I could of course ask you to remove or disable your external sound card (I hope you have a soundcard on your motherboard) but it would be too much to ask so, let's go the easy way, let's wait to see if somebody will turn up with this configuration and soundbug, or not.

I have an nVidia GPU and I'm using the motherboard's sound chip and I experience the sound bug.
In the first MP game I tried after the latest patch the sound bug appeared within about 2 mintues, it then actually came good again about 5 mins later (yes I held out that long testing other things :))
The next day I flew for maybe 20 minutes, respawned a couple of times and no bug whatsoever.
Both servers were patched to the latest version as well. (I guess they'd have to be as it was the official steam patch :))

Hmmm OK, if this is the last experience, post again please if you lose the sound again.

Yes, thats what happens. First the sound is ok long time and then cuts off. I notice that if there is more planes the sound drops out faster and if there is only few planes, the sound dont crash!

The two times I flew online since the patch there were only 3 other players maximum. The server with only 1 other pilot was Syndicate and I got the sound bug. The other server with 3 other players (later dropping off to 1 other player) didn't have the sound bug.
I haven't flown online since (can you blame me? There's too few people to play with! :))

Guys, I did not believe my eyes (ehem... my ears!) yesterday!
Have been testing some things at the REPKA server as usual and I got bored (no players) and for the first time I went to a different server (the only one with a lot of players inside) actualy one where the REPKA islands game was running...
Took off and when I went to external mode NO SOUND !!!!! ;)
I had the sound bug!! :))
Inside the plane sound was OK. I continued flying.
When after some minutes I used the external view, sound was back there.
Interesting....

Yep, it´s true! If you loose the sound you just have to change to the external views and switch between the planes! after a while the sound comes back! That´s why i´ve told the boys from the "Kampfverband 13" Server, they should change the server to external views!
Sorry for my lousy english!

Guys, I think this is becoming a Sherlok Holmes case...
Can we get organised in order to try to understand what is the common factor among those who have it (the sound bug) and those who do not?
It has to be some combination among, hardware and servers we play at.
I never had this bug but ONCE I experienced it, on a different server than the one I usually fly at, while looking outside view (inside cockpit everything was OK) this lasted some tiem and then vanished (outside view & inside cockpit sound was OK).
So the server played a role after all.

I have a Nvidia GPU (GTX 470) and experienced the sound bug in 3 configurations:
- with my USB headset (Creative Fatal1ty) which is my usual config
- with my motherboard sound
- with a Creative Audigy sound card
On some missions I get lapses with sounds going away and back, but if the missions involve a lot of AI spawning straight at the beginning, then the sound always dies immediately and totally, and given that I mostly fly online to fly coop with a few friends, this has killed the game for us.

I had it last night, after quite a while online and it seemed to be dropping in or out as I changed my prop pitch setting, may have just been coincidence.

The common factor is obvious.. its the game & its flaky sound system. It is not hardware related, it is game/mission configuration.
Luthier & co are the only ones who are in a position to tell us.
335th_GRAthos
06-29-2011, 07:03 PM
it is game/mission configuration.
It can not be, otherwise I would not be spending hours flying online without having experienced the sound bug ever, except once for 4min on a server I went to fly for first time.

So what the hell is happening about this problem, has anybody actually mentioned anything about a fix because i feel ive been ripped off totally with this game.... I am not a happy chap:evil:
i get to play for 5 to 10 mins then the sound is totally gone, just wish theyd sort this out, why wasnt it one of the first fixes??

I usually get this bug in multiplayer but i've just had it happen in the RAF single player campaign! The sound went all choppy when a group of he111's appeared then it went completly. It's killing this sim.

They stated that they have to reprogramm the whole soundsystem wich will take "several months". I REALLY hope for them they make those "several" max 2 because this issue is really leeching all the fun out of the game. And its otherwise so much fun to play.
