How do i play mp?

I dont understand why this is not a sticky. I to into MP and I am immediatly lost. Maybe I should stick to playing with f$^*ing Legos.

How do I join a server please? I have yet to play online in the two months or so that I owned this game.

Click multiplayer in the menu, then client, pick a server. Then the map loads which can take a while.
Once done you can pick your side in the top left (click "select army"), then select one of the white airbases and a menu will appear where you can choose an aircraft. Pick your plane of choice and it's fuel/bomb loadout. Then it's just a matter of clicking "create" at the bottom right and you will spawn ingame.

When I land back at base after a conflict (I do make it back occasionally) , is there a way to re-arm for another sortie or do I have to go back and 'create' again?

I don't understand Steam; I have got a list of games on it and don't know how to join a multiplayer game on Steam itself. Or does that not excists and do you have to do that ingame? I thought it worked like Gamespy..

Really....? I see none of that after the patch... no options to get in a plane at all

Since Friday's patch there has been a minor change.
Namely this part :"Once done you can pick your side in the top left (click "select army")",
Now you have to pick you side by clicking one of the flags above the playernames. Then it's the same as before, pick a white airfield and create a plane.

There was a thread from one guy who couldn't see the flags or playernames though, but the next time he connected it fixed itself. So maybe try that if you can't see the flags.
