Hi guys,
this is my first post, and i write because i've a big problem with my video card.
I've a notebook with this components:

intel i-5 M430 @ 2.27 GHz
nvidia geforce GT330m @ 1GB ram
4 GB ram DDR3
windows 7 64 bit

When I start a mission in multiplayer or single palyer, I see my desktop with icons and background and hear the engine sound, but I can't see the cockpit...
Also, when I go in "aircraft menu" or "pilot menu" I see black the preview area.
I've installed the last driver version of my video card (driver versione 275.33).
Anyone can help me please? :)

I wish I could help but every post I have seen so far by somebody using a laptop they were having massive issues. I just don't think this game was designed with mobile graphics cards in mind.

Yes! I think me too... before last patch I've edited the conf.ini file in the line "Render=D3D10_0" with the line "Render=D3D9" and i could play with the directx 9 and lower grafics settings.... With the new patch this line in conf.ini is disappeared. :(

Hi Duke,

I have the same card, and a very similar laptop in general.

You can just add the line - I still have it, and I'm still able to play.

[window]
DepthBits =24
StencilBits=8
DrawIfNotFocused=0
SaveAspect=0
Render=D3D9_0
width=1280
height=720
posLeft=0
posTop=0
ColourBits=32
FullScreen=1
ChangeScreenRes=1
Frequency=60

This is the relevant part of the conf.ini. Don't forget it needs to be the one in your documents, 1CSoftclub.

Out of curiosity, what settings do you use and what FPS do you get?

I have everything on the lowest settings, 1280x720, and I get around 10-20fps. Only models are on high, damage decals and effects on medium.

Thank you Anvifolk!
I have the following settings:

models: high
buildings details: very low
number of buildings: low
woods: no
terrain textures: high
effects: high
textures quality: original
damage decals: high
terrain shadows: medium
shadows: no
grass: no
roads: no

I play with 1280x768 risolution, AA filter 4x and get around 10-25 fps.
This is the quality of landscape with this grafic options:

This seems very odd to me. Look at my setup below. I run The Black Death track and I get Avg FPS of 36 with high of 60 (73with VSYNC off) and low of 5. The 5 happens when the Hurricane is taking off and the bomb explodes as it is getting airborne.

My online play is pretty smooth as I can get on the deck and strafe ground targets with pretty minimal/hard to notice stutters only if I zoom in and look at a group of buildings.

I was having issues with my driver crashing but that was due to a dirty laptop and my settings being a little too high. I was running everything on medium with some stuff set to high.

My current setup is 1680x1050 with all on medium but ground shading, building amount at low. Forest is off, ssao off, vsync off in game but set to override in nvidia control panel.

I no longer have any issues with driver crashing since lowering my settings to the above and cleaning out my laptop. You should get pretty decent performance since your laptop is apparently a newer version of what I got.

That is just strange... If I bump up settings, the game definitely does not go faster. I'm at a loss here! And you both have to use DX9, right?

I'm going to try clearing the installation (the cache folder) and upping the settings. We'll see! I would appreciate any other suggestions as to what might be causing this. How are your nvidia profiles?

I use the default profile for my nvidia because if I select a different profile the visualization of game and fps number don't change. :???:
