Hi guys

Will a low profile graphics card work on IL-2 Cliffs of Dover? because I've got an Aspire X3300. If it does which low profile graphics card shall I get?

If you can tell me I would be greatful.

Thanks :)

A very shaky maybe, with everything that you can't turn off on (very) low, and anything you can turn off, off.

I'm on a laptop, which is performance-wise much worse than a desktop with comparable specs. It has an i5, and an nVidia 330M. I can play it barely, if you can handle an average of 15-20 fps over sea, 10-15 over land and 10- when attacking someone.

I've been having a blast, even with these settings though, even online :)

I have the acer aspire x3300 and would be about the only one i know on here that bought it and customized it with in 1 week .. Due to your power supply only being 220watts total power you can't find a low profile video card with the power you need to run it ..The x3300 was made to be a "home theater" computer not a gaming computer ...However you can Take off the side panel cut some of the back off the rear of the computer and add in a nvida 9800 gt ..i did it awhile back ..since then i scraped the case and put the "guts" into a $30 mid side case , Added 2 120mm fans a 750watt PSU and a 5770 video card

So in short x3300 with a low profile ..yes but for what your going to get out of it if anything..wouldn't be worth it

Buying a case and a useable power supply to upgrade ..best idea

BTW your power supply is made to fit that case ..no other power supply will fit inside

Don't Worry It doesn't Matter. My Dad bought me a new computer which was fitted with a GTS 450. And the game works now. Apart from a few minor Bugs. ;)

Do you think I can play correctly at 20-30 fps with that?

S!

Well with that card CoD will look crap and run like a snail. I would strongly suggest an upgade. Sure depends on budget, but there are some good cards in the 200USD/Euro range.

Just curious...

It says it requires
512mb
3gb
3gb

And it says he nic has...
1.7
4gb
4gb

This still isn't enough?
And maybe things will change with the new patch.

Intel integated graphics..says it all. A discrete GPU is better than that and for sure gives more enjoyment with CoD. And th patch should more so.

Ok, but can I run this game, because I can run Il2 1946 perfectly and other game.

S!

You can but with lower settings compared to original IL-2 and propably with lower resolution too.

This is system RAM used by the graphics processor, that when used for graphics becomes unavailable for the rest of the system, 2GB for the rest of the system is a minimum requirement, if the graphics are using 1.7 GB then he will have 2.3 for the rest of the system, and that's low enough to be a limitation.

At this time, system RAM is usually slower than RAM actually on a graphics card.

The amount of RAM attached to a graphics card is also no guide at all to how powerful the GPU is, and the GPU he has is very weak. Intel integrated graphics are getting better than they used to be, but they're still not up to a GeForce 8800, which is the minimum recommended, heck they're still not up to a GeForce 8600, which was usable for some games in the old days.

Intel HD graphics is less than Intel HD graphics 2000, which is less than Intel HD graphics 3000, and even the 3000 is less powerful than a GF 8600 according to Tom's Hardware.

I can try with Intel HD Graphic because I run Il2 1946 very well, Battlefield 2, etc.

Do you think I will be able to play or not at low or medium if I'm lucky?

It will probably run at the lower settings. Problem is that at the lower settings the game looks like something from the early 90's (Chuck Yeagers Air Combat looks better). Wait for the patch. There will be a lot of chatter here about on what it will run properly and still look great. That way you can buy the most machine you will need and save money.

I play on a low profile GFX card, I have a 6970m.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6970M.43077.0.html

I run this on medium to high settings no problems.

EDIT - I also have a 1920x1080 resolution... just to mention.
