That is the experience of early adopters of any form of technology, products always improve and the price goes down, that's life

I paid £100 for two collector's editions and don't mind a bit.

As long as it's fixed fairly soon.;)

huh. I tried. Won't let me use Paypal, and won't let me use an american credit card. How does one get this in North America?

Click buy then you have to register with get games. After you are regetered you should be able to use paypal..
Thats what worked for me anyway.

Thanks guys...just made the purchase and all went well. I didn't need to use paypal my credit card worked fine. My expectations for this game are low, paying $30 made it easier to click the buy button. I'm heading to steam now and will report back.

Squiffy you might want to try a different card...mine was actually a debit mastercard, but it has stopped me from making online purchases before. You end up at the justflight checkout page...and many people have gotten it from them in the US.

Strange, i just noticed they have both Euro and US dollars at 30.
Will it change to 30 Euro, if I try to pay in Pound or Dollar?

l3uLLDoZeR

It changes the currency when you select your region, I think you need to be honest for the billing information to work properly. Rest of world is dollars..that worked for me. No it doesn't change to euro's if you pay in dollars.

I've never used this company but a friend just sent me a link (useless as I already purchased from justflight for full retail price) to this site which has a great price listed for CLoD
http://www.gamekeystore.net/store/steam-games?page=2
Has anybody used this company?

this little tidbit from their website should tell you enough :
Note: Downloads a game with Steam, the game will open in Russian Language.
Russian to English Language change instructions
DOWNLOAD (1.01.14550 Update Fixed) 1the file (9 MB) and Copy and paste maddox.dll
"Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\core" Run game and play in English language.!

In short you pay 23$ instead of 14$ for a Russian copy (probably illegal for them to sell it and you'll have to get new languagefiles every patch)

I'm assuming reading comprehension isn't your specialty. Of course you have to register, I fail to see how that's a big deal? You need to be honest about your location..if you're from the US, pick "rest of world".

As I understand the process if I order from them them send me an activation code that I put in steam to d/l the game.

How long is that code good for as my game machine is apart for maintenance at the moment?

The website continually gave me a message that said:

"Purchase not allowed in your locality, or to customers with low levels of reading comprehension."

Seriously though, I got turned down three times... tried it again just now and it worked! Thanks for the tip, tanker. $20!

Everything you said is correct...the code is good forever. You can download it again when you build your new machine.

I tried as well but only once and got rejected , like most of time with my girlfriends

Never tried again but say I do succeed where does Steam come into the equation?

I don't understand any of this,sorry

Very straight forward, ignore any warning, just click through. Be honest with your location, that has to match your card...get the activation number, leave the site, go to steam open an account, submit number when asked, download the game, get up in the air, shoot down, or get shotdown.

Well it totally worked for me...bought it and then put the activation code into steam to download. My version isn't the most up to date..so I'm trying to figure that out...and for the life of me I could not find what shows FPS in the options.

I bought 2 copies. First from Steam and waiting until I wised up and get it from justflight and now I have this one and one to be downloaded when it is available.

I may give it to someone.

Yeah I registered.. and they still wouldn't sell it to me. The ineptitude of this whole release just blows my mind. I never in a million years would have expected this. If someone told me that this sim would be released this way.. I would have defended 1C up and down the line.. but this is just ... really annoying as hell.. and I dont get too bent about much.. but the way this whole thing has been handled in light of the United States is just wrong.. plain and simple wrong. They just $hit all over us.. but they'll take our money when they get good and d@mned ready I suppose... it is just BULLSHIT.

Dozer you are in the burg.. Howd yo get it.. did you lie? Because I tell you in light of all this I'll be damned if I'm going to drop $50 .. If I cant get it now I will just wait till I can at a price that I can agree with, because this is all just too much for me.

Bearcat I expected more sense from you, "but the way this whole thing has been handled in light of the United States is just wrong"

It is not released in the USA yet!!

"but they'll take our money when they get good and d@mned ready I suppose... it is just BULLSHIT."

You think it is better paying for a beta like the rest of us (europe/asia) have done?

If you dont want to drop $50 bucks thats your choice, but imho Ive already got my moneys worth in spades (and I bought 3 versions) a must have for any serious flight sim fan, and I stress the word serious here.

Hi guys,

Quick Q for any one who bought this from 'Get Games' - Does the game install into Steam, i.e. just the same as a Steam game would? i.e. so I can then download it as many times as I like through Steam, just the same as though I had made the purchase from Steam directly? I like this service, hence my Q.

Not going to have much time to look at CoD over the next couple of months, just too much work on, but considering the price am tempted to pick it up now just for a bit of a nose around ;).

Cheers.

From Zephyr 66 in another thread:

And once you get the Activation Code, launch Steam. At the top of the Steam window, click on Games/Activate a product on Steam...
There you can enter the Activation Code (cut and paste works great) and begin the downloading process.

Thanks man, sounds just like a normal Steam game then, just what I wanted.

Cheers.

No I didn't lie, i was honest and it worked fine. My billing info for my credit card had to be correct. 1st try said invaild card # and it worked on the 2nd click! Others have tried 3 times and it worked on the fourth..so no clue.

You could always get somebody else to make the purchase on the credit card and give you the cd key to download from steam. I agree it could be easier..but it really is worth it. People are hating on the little things, but the game does look really nice!
