As you all know there is going to be a future release of an SDK, but when?
Maddox and co. has put so many hours into building this sim yet I think its yet to be half finished, sorry guys - this is just my opinion
I wonder why Maddox doesnt just let the modders work their magic with an SDK so that they can make all the minor tweaks and fixes whereas Maddox can make all the big code changes to refine the game
So basically what i am saying is why waste time doing it yourselves (1C and Maddox) and let the modders do what they do best whilst you concentrate on big things like AI, and codeing (stuff like that)
Please release the SDK soon

do you think with the SDK you get clearance to change/edit/fix things in the default gamecode ??
i actually doubt it................

that would be monstrous... there's someone in this forum who said he's a programmer for 20 years and that there isn't a code that can't be fixed... perhaps he could do it
\echo off

There is no one stopping anyone that I'm aware.
There will not be a release of authenticated SDK until COD developer decides.
That may be several months.

Well I think the SDK will be out sooner rather then later. A reason why I think this is because of the backflip on mod talk discussions now allowed. This game will only suffer without mods.

Mods are long-lived additions to the game, Fixing the game and it's bugs before proving a SDK would be the best option. As mod tools - they can wait.

Why do you doubt it?
Generally SDKs allow the modification of every file you can imagine (and lots you probably cant!) People have turned modern warfare into a star wars shooter with an SDK.
I doubt you know what an SDK stands for................

I doubt you understand that for onliners open mods would be a disaster, I 'm with Frankyboy on this, there will need tro be something sorting the mods from the real game online, as there is in ROF, then if a mod is popular, historically correct etc, the devs may incorporate it into the standard unmodded game, of course there would most likely be allowances for maps and skins being allowed.

Hahahahaha, when you say "open mods" you mean like almost every other game?
I can browse a bunch of counter strike servers right now, a ton of which have VAC enabled, and play on them in a matter of minutes, even if they have mods. Even if I don't have that particular mod the server is running it'll automatically download all the files I need, and with no real worries of hackers trolling those servers. And this is all on that evil, evil steam.
In my experience, the only community that runs with the "mods destroy online" trick is IL2. And thats because they largely did, thanks to a lack of anti-cheat features present in the original game. But almost every other game conceivable, representing every major genre, has benefited from mods.
I doubt you've played many games other than IL2 and flight sims...........
EDIT: or really anything involving computer programming.........

I don't think it works that way.
A software development kit generally allows you to create your own sections of code and would only let you interface to the game code by a set set of approved function calls.
You don't have access to the any of the actual game code.
What exactly was promised in terms of SDK's?
SDK may only be released to approved developers after signing a contract to specify it's use. Who knows fees may be charged.
Cheers!

for myself the SDK will bring understanding upon the construct of the module that we will be making. a heirarchy of various files. description of various inter related files. detailed explanation of the shader system and any heirarchy upon which the files follow. generall information !
ive had the pleasure of diving deep into other companies forms of SDK, some very comprehensive and some very basic.
SDK is a very loose terminology. but where an officially moddable game is concerned that SDK should be relativly comprehensive enough for any 'advanced' user to output his/her mod to the game in a suitable state to work with the game.
asides what i want it might be best to discuss what we all want from the sdk. without arguments ofcourse. the less il2 baby,s throwing there toys out the pram the better !

The ability to individualize each aircraft from the merlin prs would be great, and be able to fully sound mod.
