This game stinks of 'Arcade'

Sorry, but for a game that will come in more than half a year this is way too bad. I bet when youll see CloD at this time it will absolutely RULE:P

Cheers

PS: And btw. Its coming for XBox. So that cant be a real simulator.

I think it looks like when waking up with goo in your eyes, and discovering you have a condition opposite of colour-blindness. Then you go to the curtains and and open them only to reveal a full on midday, blinding, migrene-inducing sun that makes you wish you never woke up in the first place.

Does that mean that ONLY 1C can do better with time ? These are actual screens from a game that will be optimized for another 6 months...
I still have to see COD in par with those screens: better clouds, transparent water, better tracers, very high terrain details, etc...I know ( hope ) COD will get there eventually, but by that time, will COD look obselete ?
Would you say that COD today is looking like 2011 ?

Salute !

I was wondering the same thing. Aircraft models look a lot like the old Il2. Just a lot more pyro and stuff going on. Not bad, would get it if I had a console game system. Just for the heck of playing it on a 70 inch LED.

If its made for the PS3 and XBOX and then ported to pc, dont count on it being any good:rolleyes:

I was under the impression that WOP used its own engine but used the flight models or something from il2.

Your right WOP never used the IL-2 game engine, but they did borrow aspects of IL-2's flight model and modified it. Gaijin used their own game and graphics engine.

I think for a console game the terrain detail is very impressive, I guess the PC version will have a lot more eye candy.

ehh, looks nice. but this is like WOP on steroid. Too arcade-looking.

That looks all very nice but there is no mention of a PC version so pretty much kills my interest from there on in as there are no decent HOTAS options for the 360 or PS3.

Yeah, agreed.

That's not neccessarily a bad thing, but it's not what I'm after.
I'll end up buying it to show support, but like the first game it'll gather dust on my drive and never get played.

Me too.

As much as I found the terrain in the first WOP superior to the terrain in CLODO (except for the ridiculous "save the private Ryan" filter), as much I'm not really impressed by the first screenshots of WOP2.

Why does it always come down to some sort of contest?
To my mind you can't have enough WWII aviation games..

the original post is off-topic, it's not IL-2 CloD related even.. not even close. Birds of steel doesn't even sound like anything that would fly :D

Do you guys honestly not see that the whole point of Tree's posting this was a BOSWOPCOD battle/contest???

If AAA where left in charge to work with IL2 Sturmovik this is how it would look, well, maby not the green "stuff", but pretty much. Exaggerated effects, smoke thats so dense your plan would explode if u flew into it, sounds that has nothing to do with reality, just sounds cool etc etc.
