Hey I know we all wait with baited breath for the arrival of the sequel.
However will it spell the end of BOP. Who's gonna be playing when the sequel appears. Will we have half the lads playing BOP at one time while the rest are roaming the skies over the pacific or wherever ?
I don't like the thought of it to be honest.
I just hope there is a sequel. As for killing BoP I guess we will cross that bridge when we come to it. If it is as good or better there is a good chance the community will become a bit smaller.

yep I personally can't wait for the long overdue sequel but thats my point. I think BOP will die. I think thats sad.

If the sequel keeps what we already have and builds on it in terms of content then why wouldn't the hardcore change. If it's BOP evo then bring it on.

during sony's downtime we seemed to be getting nuggets of info regarding the imminent arrival of the sequel but oddly since we're all back skywards I've heard little or nothing. Anybody got some up-to-date info ?

Well, Gaijin took the award for the best console game 2011 at the Russian game developer's conference recently.

Sorry to be negative, but it seems to me that the game isn't profitable enough for a publisher to pick up the bill for. My market research has shown me most console flight sims actually lose money and thats not something a publisher is interested in supporting. I too hope for a sequel but it would have to be a further developement of BoP and not some pacific spin off. I hope a major/decent publisher comes along with the budget and patience to do things right; do necassary extra multiplayer testing etc.
505 didn't do it, from what we're hearing from CLOD ubisoft didn't do it either (that didn't suprise me)

I think it depends on how much overlap there is between the gameplay and options between the two versions. If the sequel is in a different theater with a different selection of planes then people may continue to play both as the mood takes them.
But, as with any sequel, the original multi will probably drop off significantly.
