I have just posted a 14 mission (campaign?) on Gamekeeper's excellent 'Airwarfare.com' site for COD Storm of War.

You will fly as a Spitfire pilot with 64 Squadron from Kenley. The series of missions accurately covers Phase 1 of BOB, the Luftwaffe's testing of RAF Fighter Command between the 10th July and the 9th August 1940. There is one mission where you fly as wingman to 'Sailor Malan' with 74 Squadron out of Manston. This was the day that Flt. Lt. Malan wounded Maj. Werner Molders.
The series of missions are sequentially numbered 1-14 with location names and are fully scripted. You can fly them like a campaign or fly them individually. If you want to fly another aircraft rather than the Spitfire you can go into the FMB and activate the aircraft route and tick the pilot box (same as IL-2 1946). The campaign also has some basic training missions, flying the Tigermoth and some advance training Spitfire missions. My suggestion is you fly this campaign with 'fully functional cockpits' which really adds to the immersion.

dougandtoni,
When you click-on the link to 'Airwarfare.com' above you will see I have detailed where to put the missions and briefings. You will have to register to download with 'Airwarfare.com' which will be the main site for future COD Storm of War downloads, the same as their previous site, 'Mission 4 today' still is for Il-2 1946.
DFLion
PS remember this is not an official campaign, it is a series of missions you fly sequentially to make a campaign. The Il-2 COD team will start turning on more campaign making features progressively, as they start sorting out some the current game issues.

Hi dflion
I downloaded your missions last night, but I noticed that there was no briefing. (?)
I started in the Tiger Moth, took off, but had no idea as to what to do.
I installed the missions just like I have others, so I don't think I did anything wrong, so can you advise please?

To see the briefings on the 'Spitfire Dawn' (campaign)
1. Click on 'Single Player'
2. Click on 'Single Mission'
3. Click on mission i.e 'Tigermoth_training_01.mis
4. Then click on 'Custom' and you will see the briefing
5. Then click on 'Fly'
Luthier probably needs to change this extra step - clicking on 'Custom'? - he may have done it in ver. 1.01.14550

Giving this a try alongside the German one, worth noting the briefings now display properly. Looks good so far, praying the Spit 1 & 1a get some love in tomorrows patch :)

adonys, I get two folders when I unpack this:
\il2_cod_folder\parts\bob\mission\campaign\campaig n_Spitfire_Dawn
and
\il2_cod_settings_folder\mission\campaign\campaign _Spitfire_Dawn
- Where do I put these two folders? - In my 1C Softclub folder or in my SteamApps folder?
Thanks!

Thanks for this.
Is it possible to merely reopen the files and resave as a multiplayer campaign to enable on line use?

Great stuff. I've only done the training missions (loved the find Stonehenge mission - easy enough to wean a softy like me off the "map" window and actually set my compass!), but they're great so far. A real portent of things to come.

Ok, I think I got it. So, the second folder goes into the 1CSoftclub-folder...
Damn', that was complicated!

Tried the first tiger moth mission, and I just found myself in an airfield with a slowly rotating plane... - I have turned the text windows off, do I need them enabled? Will there be some sorts of instructions? - Damn', I don't even think I know how to turn the text window on again!

I really liked your Stuka video Freycinet, keep up the good work.
When I made this Tigermoth mission, I tryed to get the 'surface wind' working in the FMB. This is what is skewing your Tigermoth around (I think?). Just get it started quickly, and start taxying. This mission is really just a familiarization flight. The real Tigermoth (which has been faithfully modelled by Oleg) is a wonderful aircraft to fly and thankfully we have a lot of them still flying in Australia (OZ).

PS Don't worry about the text window, it is still not working properly in the FMB.

As mentioned, unfortunately we haven't got the full FMB yet and I can't script instructor orders. In this mission it is just a familiarization flight, 'circuit and bump'. On a later Tigermoth mission you have to set your compass, fly cross-country and find Stonehenge? Use the 'map window' to help you.

{dz} The smoke pot is situated directly behind the range. The range is situated in a small 'box valley' and consists of a series of target boards, set-up on your approach direction. You are 'scored' on how many hits you achieved.
One thing I did notice when testing this mission, the smoke appears when you are nearly at the range, then when you fly away from the range you see a lot more smoke? For some reason you are not getting a distant 360 degree view of the smoke?
DFLion
thanks dflion, :)
i have same problem as you with the smoke, after you fly over, looks like the whole hill is on fire..ha
enjoying the missions so far,cheers

Hey DFlion, do we need to redownload these campaigns again (Spit & German ones) due to the 'sinking below ground' issue with the FMB, or are they stil working ok? :)

Orpheus, I haven't seen this problem in my campaigns after downloading all patches, including the latest 1.02.14821. They all seem to be working ok, the only problem I am having is that the default bf109E-3 skin is overwriting Capt. Farrells historical skins, you can't seem to get rid of it, ending up with one skin overlaying the other?
The FMB still has a long way to go, although the flight sim interface seems to be working smoother and the flying seems a lot better.
I did see a Dornier taxying with half its tyres in the runway. When I altered the aircraft fuel weight, they were ok.

Put both folder where they should be and i see no campaign for this..
Only single missions in single play..is that correct?

I think that's how it was released, as a sequence of single missions in their own folder.
I seem to remember there was another guy who converted them to campaign format, but i can't find the relevant post. Maybe the converted versions are hosted at www.airwarfare.com, have a look there.

I downloaded and installed the mission AND BRIEFING files as described at the host site. Fired up IL-2 and there they were. Tried out a couple of the Tiger Moth training missions. Briefing info was well written I thought. Nice to have a couple AI in air near you too. Found I did much better without the jerk trainer yelling nonsense at me and diving at the runway. The Tiger Moth is certainly a beast to taxi. Took a bit of wingtip off during first landing but instructor and I survived.
All in all seem to be a nice set of mission files. Thanks
Edit: I just discovered that I could put missions into unique folders in the missions\single\ folder and the Folder Name will show up nicely in IL-2. Nice. Helps keep things neat and organized

I am just puting the finishing touches to an update to Spitfire Dawn using all the FMB tools that Ilya finally switched on in his last release.
Just about all missions have trigger points now that make each mission more exciting and realistic - 'watch out for the Hun in the Sun'.
I am also trying to get the scripting working better which will give you controller radar calls on enemy aircraft and better mission progression.
I like the new sound profile of the Spitfire now, it is vastly improved. I have also added new skins for all German aircraft which are now more historically realistic.
Just about all missions start from an airfield taxi point, though at some stage you have to put the aircraft on autopilot to sync the scripting (some sort of scripting bug).
I am also working on an update to JG26 which will have trigger points on all missions plus some new missions.
I was very saddened when IL2 'pulled the plug' on COD. Admittedly I have a high end computer rig and everything works fine at the high end of realism for me. I think COD is the best WWII flight sim to date. I am hoping that the new IL2/Studio777 will salvage many of the aircraft/vehicle/ship/train/building and artillery from COD and hopefully develop another Channel Map for their new game engine?
