Mr LUTHIER when do you give us a real soundtrack??
with Merlin engine sounds or Daimner Bentz that makes us dream
With real explosions? real noise of guns??
A film without sound is without interest. For a game like this.
You have created this game in order to make the most realistic of all time.
How do you want us to believe with sounds like this??

Mr LUTHIER remember the most important in a game: the atmosphere.....

Well actually, CloD has demonstrated atmosphere is not the most important part of the game - being bug free is more important.

We'll get there some day - or at least the modders will get us there.

with atmosphere a very close second, i think it the sim felt like it had atmosphere then people would hack the pain a bit more

I think that sounds fine to have hyper-engines with beautiful music we would expect that most things work out quietly

''Beautiful music soothes the soul''..........

Well i do..

Its not the most important thing right now with this game, its obvious what is so i wont mention them again but yes you are right, a decent soundtrack is a must in the future

IT is a VERY important part, the problem is that there are even bigger problems right now :( That, however, doesn't make this problem any smaller.
We can't do anything but wait and hope.

I think this is one area that Rise of Flight and the DCS series of games are way ahead in. Everything sounds like it should in those games and it adds to the immersion. Most of Cliffs of Dover's sounds do not sound like the real thing and some of the sounds are poor quality or very generic.

Be nice if they spent some money on actually making the game sound real, you'd be surprised how much it'd add to the game.

Im not saying it wouldnt..i KNOW it would be a great part of the immersion cake to have that implemented..theyre using Il2 sounds for the most part..they probabaly havent even touched the sounds from when they started this project..

all im saying is sounds is the least of their worries and im sure 100% of the people not able to play or run this game properly couldnt give a rats a$$ about the sounds right now

Has Maddox Games ever produced great sounds? As far back as I can recall, they have always been a weakness in their product.

To be honest, I think that's a fair statement.

Obviously sorting out the performance and multiplayer takes preference, but the sound issue is a big one.
It's not just the placeholder engine sounds, but it's difficult to actually hear other planes as well. Sounds just sound muted, even your own engine. Ambient sounds are minimal too.
I'd like to see sliders for engine, ambient and gunfire volume, and overall just much more attention being paid to the sound setup.
I'm sure the devs are perfectly aware of all this of course, but it never hurts to bang on the drum now and then.

Just as long as one doesn't hear other planes in his cockpit with a running engine!!!!

... why did the developers not contact the guy who made these soundmods for the old IL2, if they themselves dont know how to do it,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhWTTOjt03k

instead of implementing again the same old lawnmower sounds they had already 10 years ago in the first IL2 ? Ingenuity does not seem to be appreciated here?

If you guys (the developers) dont know how such things are dealt with, take an example with the car manufacturers, maybe you can still learn something from them.

You know, new cars dont have antique technology from 10 years ago, they are usually better than the old ones, in any respect!

PS: please excuse my sarcasm but sometimes you provoke it, really!

Most of the external engine sounds are the exact same sounds from IL2. That being said, i find that some of the in-cockpit sounds are well done, mostly on the axis aircraft. The G.50 also has a nice sound pack.

The biggest advantage of those CoD stock sounds that are well made is that they are fully dynamic. Jump in a 110, set throttle to idle, start a shallow glide, play around with the prop pitch and listen to how the sound changes, the engines are talking to you. Very important for those who fly with full CEM, because this way you can fly the manual pitch luftwaffe planes and keep the engine healthy without looking at the RPM gauges all the time, you just get used to how it sounds in different RPM bands and tune it by ear from that point on.

I have a feeling a lot of the current sounds are place-holders and they will be replaced at some point by a patch. Otherwise, why would some aircraft have better in-cockpit sound while others use the same IL2 sounds and why would almost all of them use the old IL2 sounds as well for external views?
