Howdy all,
While new to these forums, I have been playing the IL2 series for some time now and just started playing CoD. My primary question is in regards to the distance indicators. Admitedly, I fly with Icons enabled so that I can find/keep track of goodguys and badguys. I am refering to the arrows that point towards the planes. I am a bit confused about the distance indicators. The numbers that appear next to the target a/c. I.E. 2.0, 1.6, .5 and so on as you get closer. Are these numbers in yards or meters? I.E. 2.0=200 yards, .50=50 yards? I usually wait till I am .50 before I open fire and find that my rounds do not converge. I appreciate any info you could provide me on this. Trust me, this is only the first of MANY questions... lol.

I think that the icons follow the convention used in the previous IL2 series, that is they are in metric. So, .20 means 200 meters, 1.2 means 1200 meters and so on.

Perfect... now I get to convert... Thanks for the reply.

Does anyone know for sure? Is the icon range display in meters or yards?

And how about in the Loadout screen? Is that meters or yards?

Pretty importan to get convergence right.

I'm pretty sure it's all metric, just like it was in the previous series.

Ok, thanks.

So if I got 150 set for convergence in the loadout I'll make best damage when icons show .15!?!

If I use the gunsight (if icons are disabled) then I need to convert to yards (i.e 164 yards).
Confusing when flying allies. :-D

Just for reference if someone read this thread and want more info on the gunsight:
