now main inconvenience is size it would be like always playing with 30º fov
then change virtual perception from a 360º sphere to a 720º
you would change the size of the the perception sphere with the buttom form realistic to smaller non realistic but simulating lateral view:cool:
all needed would be a webcam really :)
Whoa, thanks for that vid Raaid!
Looks very very cool, would be much more effective then proper 3d screens even.

well its the best vr you can get with current hardware:
the key for inmersion is keeping the proportions, you really cheat your brain into thinking youre really there
the key to look at any picture, game or whatever with realistic proportion is:
if you have a fov of 30º the screen must have an angular size of 30º
with johny lee system youll always feel breath taking realistic proportions at whatever distance from the screen
now if you want to use a wide view with lees system implemented i suppose could be telling the software that for every 2º of the virtual world it renders on the screen 1º
doing it witha webcam is a matter of using face recognitions software
they could ask casinos
faces of blackjack counters are kept on black lists and detected via the eye in the sky as soon as the counter puts step on the casino

Um...we already have TrackIR. And it's been out way longer than even this 3 or so year old video so not really sure what you want other than to be able to find a use for that wii lying around.
Plus you can look behind you with the TIR setup and it's designed and implemented in a multitude of sims and games already.

johny lee system keeps game fov and fov that the screen takes from your eyes equal to achieve a vr effect
6dof doesnt do that
edit:
current 6dof simulates looking at an screen
lees seem to be looking through a window
in fact the tech is what ww2 gunsights used :)
edit:
6dof to work properly :
if an image takes 10 pixels when youre at 1 m distance from the screen, it should take 5 pixels when you are at half meter
this is old tech gunsights work this way however distance to the glass always same apparent size of the crosshair
6dof doesnt do that and honestly seems quite lame to me not having implemented this yet
