whatnot

As I've finally cracked and ordered an iPad 2 to get a decent kindle & browser platform I thought of a cool feature to improve the CloD simming experience espcially on more complex crates:
Load some ww2 style cockpit bitmap into iPad with a bunch of buttons and levers and sliders. Then have the app send the outputs to the sim and you'd have a pretty flexible and handy controller in your hands.
Googled a bit and realized that there is one already for FSX (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fsxcontrol/id389743108?mt=8). So I recon that's atleast some proof of concept.
I wonder how laboursome this kind of app would be and if anyone here has any iCoding experiences. If so, stew one up and I could easily pay 5$ for it instead of investing hundreds into custom controllers. Let me know when you've uploaded it to AppStore ;-)
