The theoretical explanation is wanting, but the historical and observation is excellent.

BTW, it is not like someone had suddenly though of adding pitch change mechanisms before, it was very expensive to make.

Excellent video, making you wonder why 1C guys won't take the time to offer similar stuff to their community.

Good stuff! Reminded me why i spent so long reading forums learning how to configure the Z-axis on my mouse when playing '46 :)

Sticky! Sticky! Sticky!

I like it that you have to find out on your own. Says a lot about you.

Would it be possible than an expert could point out basic settings for the prop pitch to play around with and learn from?

sth like:

Start procedure : x ata -> y rpm -> z prop pitch
level flight:
landing:
combat:
climb:

................. to get best speed or best economic flight.

Sad that in COD variable prop pitch ( Spitfire MK1 - 2 stage and Bf 109 E) dont work like it should.

Unfortunately even prop pitch managment in COD is made in wrong way :(

Again

Don't bump posts like that.
I posted same video time ago, so if people don't care don't force them to listen.

How so ?

If you have variable prop pitch propeller ( like it was in 109 E and early Spitfire and Hurrciane - 2 stage prop pitch) for reach maximum speed you need set coarse pitch.

In COD for reach maximum speed you have to set fine pitch ( both for 109 and Spitfire and Hurrciane) which is wrong.

With gaining speed you should have to adjusted prop pitch from fine pitch to coarse settings.

So in COD variable prop pitch which used 109 and UK fighters dont work correctly.

Strange, just took a hurry for a short test ride and at 6 000 feet, max throttle, it did app 220 mph at fine pitch and app 250 mph at course pitch.

Strange, it works correctly for me. I start with fine pitch on the 109 and whenever i hit a "speed limit" i set a coarser pitch and it accelerates more. The 110 even starts climbing if i set coarse pitch in level flight.

The trick is to do it in stages, like shiting gears in a car: high RPM to accelerate from low speeds, the lower RPM as you get faster.
If you try to just set coarse pitch right from the start it's like trying to get your car moving from a stop while in 5th gear, it won't work well.
