After the most recent Beta patch, my stuttering problem is almost completely gone, although I need to have several of the settings set on medium to accomplish this.

I am running a Geforce 570 and sometimes my frame-rate rockets up to over 150 FPS.

I am using EVGA Precision's on-screen display to track my fan speed, GPU usage, and temp.

Sometimes the GPU usage goes up to 99% and stays there. Mostly when I am just flying around with no one near. The frame rate goes anywhere from 75-150 fps.

I really wish I could find a way to limit the frame rate here, as my GPU temp goes way up and the fan kicks on and sounds like a jet engine.

I have tried: Dxtory, Nvidia Control Panel, D3DOverride, and SSAA Tool to get the frame rate to go down to 30 fps and stay there.

None of those things work.

Any ideas? Can we get an option to limit the frame rate in game?

I would also like to note that I am one of the people who is unable to get vsync to work.

I second that, please implement a framerate limiter if possible; such a tool has proved invaluable for other sims such as RoF and FSX.

yep we need frame rate limiter within game gui....and it seams that vsync is not working (or not working properly) since I have noticable screen tearing..both would improve smoothnes of my game since FPS are quite high...

Why dont you enable Vsync in global settings?
That's for NV users.

EDIT: never mind. the thing I posted has been already mentioned.

Vsync forced on and high frame rates... suggests the Global isn't seeing COD either

YES I forced Vsync in the global settings of Nvidia CP but the GAME doesnt seem to use it properly (or at all)...I hope now its clear...

I think I use DxTory to limit the fps (works with DX10) You can also record video etc with it. Not 100% sure tho, not at home and I must have left my memory at home aswell, hehe.

So now we're complaining that we have too many fps? ;)

60 fps is good enough for me and I enjoy a silent computer instead of a jet engine in my case :)
Now I can enjoy those placeholder sounds in external view!1!! ;)

mate ur lost....fps limiter is good when you have big variation from lowest to highest fps...so lets say refresh rate of your screen is 60Hz, you can reach high fps values, so if you set fps limiter to 60 ull have smoother gameplay overall.....got it?

I just don't like seeing my graphics card's temp rise to 85c.

And the fan noise is terrible.

Rise of Flight has a frame limiter that works perfectly. It keeps my card cool so the fan doesn't have to.

Have you checked your fps in the FMB, should be quite high with your system?

It gets way up there but its not causing heat issues on my 6970... seems that the nVidia cards are having more issues with that in this game that ATI at the moment.

There is a program called, fortuitously for this thread, FPS LIMITER. It is pretty old, but it might work with this game and might achieve the desired results as a stop-gap until other, official fixes are implemented. It can be located with a Google search. I will try it, anyway, and see if it works.

Nah, old program, doesn't work with DX10, DXTORY (free version) does work, but somewhat a moot point since the new patch enables VSync. Although with DXTORY you can limit your FPS to whatever you want.
