to make work a searshlight you have to do that!
1. put an AI antiaircraft object (not sure of name i play in frensh) and define an radius (100m per exemple)
2. in the properties of the AI objeect choose start up.CPP
3. put a generator inside the radius of AI object (static ---> environnement ---> generator)
4. link the AI object to the generator by the button set to... (you will see a yellow line linking the generator and the AI object.
5. put a searchlight near the generator. (don't forget to put the generator and searchlight in the radius of AI object)
it is done... now when a plane fly in the area the searschlight will work. and if the generator is destroy...the search light will stop working.
;)
one more thing... apparently there are more powerfull generator an less powerfull one.. IMO you can put severall searchlight to one generator. but if the generator is not full enough it can't make work all the searshlight.

i hope so. i try myself to find how works every script and function of the editor. and it is not easy without doc :)
if only we had a section to centralize infos about the FMB it will be more easy :)

hello esmiol,
I've just tried your method and cant find the options for any of your steps.
Could you post a screen shot for each step? (I know it will be french but the options will be in the same places)
Thanks

Allright what he said in the english version:
I'm going with the british variant:
First of all place one object called JP-3 Generator 15kW or something like that on the map.
Now place say, 3 british 90cm or 150cm searchlights around the generator...
Now place the AI Anti-Air object and set radius say.. 150 and zoom out so you can see the radius. Now make sure all your ground objects are within that radius, if not either:
Move the objects
or
Increase the radius.
Now once you have those set up, look into the parameters of the Anti-Air and find the script called PowerOn.CPP and select it.
Now click the generator unit and find the set target button, click it on the anti-air AI unit and you should see a yellow line between the generator and the AI unit.
Now if you launch the mission the searchlights should work! They seem a bit bugged though because they have very limited view distance and pop up when you are really close to target. Also they didn't seem to light up the aircraft very well.
Let me know if this solved it for you :)

Got them working thank you very much for your help, tbh though i wish i hadnt spent all that time putting them into my mission now.
They are rubbish. Not even a light source just a white line and they erractically fling around the sky just like how the AI fly.
Yet another dissapointment for me with this game :(
