A complex Scripting feature is also provided which allows you to set your own mission goals and directly cause events in a mission. As using them requires some knowledge of programming, their description exceeds the scope of this manual. We plan to release a comprehensive guide to Triggers and Scripting at some point after the game is released.

I can't wait to see just what this can do.

I'll be experimenting to see if I can figure out how scripting works but I am really looking forward to the comprehensive guide.

Me too...

I've had a good look at lots of the campaign missions and many of them have scripted events...looks complex but i'm sure we'll get the hang of it!

The one thing I would really like to know is how to add in a script/trigger for a success/fail mission ending? We used to just add a TARGET object with 'destroy this' or 'land at base' or enter 'this area' in IL2...very simple...but how do we do it in COD?

Also there's an option to add .wav files to briefings, but no .wav files i've tried will work?..

Also will we be able to add Tracks to missions/campaigns?...and who could we get to write a guide for all this ....? ;)

Yeah this is all pretty baffling at the moment, I can't even figure out how to make something simple like a successful landing at an airfield trigger a success event.

Mind you I did get a bit distracted by the Herring Gulls object that I was playing with.
Bit of an FPS hog though :(

Anyway its early days, we'll get the hang of it soon enough ...

BTW we've been able to add .wav files to briefings since Pacific Fighters ;) just need to work out the correct file format; I bet its the same as for IL2...

Yes..i've had a play with the sheep and cows as well.. ( ooh err)I put them in the middle of a tank battle to see if they could be hit...didn't see any casualties!!

That reminds me...tank battles are great, the Matilda really is a tough early war tank, maybe tomorrow night I will make a bigger land battle...tanks vehicles...arty...uuummm
