Reading through some of the beta patch reports, its clear that some users found the patch beneficial even if it was only a few extra FPS. Where as others saw no gain at all. At a first glance it appeared that AMD users seemed to report more positive posts. So, would it be possible for those who did see some improvent to post what CPU they have below and also what operating system, no disscussion here please, just post what CPU you have and what speed it is running at if you found the patch to be an improvement. Obvioulsy this is not going to give us a complete picture but its a start.

many thanks

For example;-

AMD Phenom @ 3.00GHZ

big improvement.
had to drop res from native down a notch pre-patch, post-patch its back up to 1920x1080, with trees and grass back on. still splutters and jerks, but nowhere near as bad.

This thread is for those who only saw improvements. I think it's a good idea personally.

I got an improvement (no doubt my fan club will be along shortly)

in most cases a doubling of fps.....still not spectacular over london, over the sea it runs totally smooth with everything on max at resolution 1680x1050 60hz (max for my monitor), but to get any performance over london I found I had to disable shadows and turn down AA (which seems strange as AA doesn't normally affect performance on any other games for me).

Intel core2 Quad @ 3.2ghz overclocked
Asus rampage extreme mobo
8Gb DDR3 corsair RAM
Nvidia gtx 470 1280 GDDR5 VRAM
SupremeFx X-Fi soundcard
Western digital HD 7,200 1Tb
Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit

After the patch I did feel (not real maybe) improvement of the micro freeze/micro stuttering at low altitude over cities. No fps improvement. But the fps over big cities London and le Havre stay at a little above 10fps.

slight FPS improvement for me, and changed nature of stutters from big random ones, to small, regularly spaced stutters.

CPU = Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz)
RAM = 4GB
Graphics = GeForce GTX460
OS = Windows7 Prof 64bit

there is definitely a rendering bottleneck going on, a kind of wave that you have to overcome, then most of stuttering clears out
it looks a bit like a gaussian function
http://www.unilim.fr/pages_perso/jean.debord/math/random/gauss.gif
the higher the resolution is, the higher the peak is, some people like bongo are at the 1680 limit, so with a little optimization he gets a high reward, while others are still stuck

Pretty sure i did notice an improvement over channel and terrain.,more fluid.,less stuttering.,stayed away from big cities (London). Had an enjoyable flight in countryside @ 25-35fps.,( channel @ 45-60fps) For me.,patch did help. Terrain,trees,grass,buildings set to low-med. :)
