I made some settings changes and the result is that on my system is that its very possible to fly on the deck over London with about 30 fps. At higher altitudes the fps goes up to 50 fps. I'd like to see what people with similar Rigs get for fps when they use these settings..

Now, I have a good rig and the game ran pretty well for me pre patch, but not over major developed areas like London. Wasn't a slide show but it got close to single digits. This is the "Russian" version of the game with the "Russian" version patch.

I will post my in game video settings first..

And finally, proof is in the video documentation....

slightly higher..the video seems to show a couple of very brief pauses, but I don't think hey actually are "pauses" I think they were cause by stick inputs..

I flew through London Bridge and turned left over the city as the recording began.. heading away from the Thames.. The results were pretty consistant with the only difference being at a little higher altitide you could see the buildings drawing around you a lot more..but the fps seemed to be the same regardless..just didn't look as cool

I will say this, when you fly over london and see the buildings drawing you have to think "Holy Cow, thats a lot of triangles to draw!"

Thanks for the info, I'll try out your settings tonight. In the Beta thread you stated you have a 6870. How much VRAM has your card?

Will have to try this with my setup when I get home.

Max settings. But AA off, building detail/amount very low, and tree's high.

Avg 35FPS, varies between 25-60FPS, can go as low as 15FPS (aka London). Performance can vary though and can be different even flying the same parts (after a fresh start).

Only setting changed in config.ini was affinitymask, set to 63.

I7 (gulftown), 12Gb RAM, 5970, Win7 64.

my beta performance, it's quite good when there is limited buildings, see video.

I asked about this in another thread but didn't get any answer.
Since CoD is really running in windowed mode, do you see any performance difference if you turn off Windows Aero? I would assume that the 'active' desktop with its effects would suck some of the available juice.

JG14_Jagr (http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/member.php?u=33633) can you please test out the latest ATI CCC and see if its better, I'm running 11.13 and it seems to be no different from 11.12. If you get worse performance then we can at least say for ATI users the 11.12 is the best CCC to use.

Kankkis, what are your video settings and conf.ini?

Shadows off, grass on, roads on

Resolution 1920*1080

Both buildings settings lowest possible.

AA 2x

All others highest, but trees maybe medium or high

Config.ini default

And i checked with MSI afterburner, my second GPU core doesen't do nothing.
Maybe then when there is real full screen support.

So i got really playable fps, but when there is lot of building, same time i got really bad stuttering, i also find that when you fly around 15min stuttering goes better and less stuttering when textures is loaded to memory.

One other thing, when IL2 was first released way back in the day when I was not as old, you could not fly over large towns.. at all.. the effect was very similar to what most people are seeing in this game.. even REALLY good gaming rigs by the standards of the day were brought to their knees.. The issue I see is that the increase in CPU/GPU speeds is not going to move forward the way it did back then.. It seemed every 12 months you doubled your performance at least.. And, they modelled the cities building by building.. literally thousands and thousands of them..

Have your tried over cities with 15 v 15, 20 v 20, or other combinations using fighters only?

I really don't know what I'm getting from the Affinity settings and if the setting I am using is the best one.. I got it from the Russian Sukhoi web site and the game didn't explode so I left it on.. ;)

Yes, and there doesn't seem to be much of a difference with those numbers..

Over Ocean I don't take a hit until the bombers/fighters get up to 100 or so.. 9 groups of 9 bombers, and 2 groups of 12 fighters.. when flying through the bombers the fps dropped to 20 from 50.. I think a lot of that was the otto gunners and tracers..

I'm, using 11.2 I just downloaded 11.3 and I'll load it and test it..

This will be little help, but there was a thread (maybe SimHQ) that listed which to use for how many cores. 63 is used for 6 core.

I didn't spend too much time seeing whether it increased performance but there certainly is activity on multiple cores with CoD running. Take from that as you will.

In the hopes that the dev team read this, a repost from the patch announce thread:

Game refuses to run post patch, launcher starts up and crashes, have tried deleting config files, but still no joy.

Intel i7 990X six core @ 3.46GHz, 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz DDR3, ATI Radeon HD 6990 4096MB, Intel X25-M Mainstream SSD, and Asus X58 Sabertooth TUF motherboard, all stock speeds running under Win7 64.
