Has anyone else noticed in the 109 that the instruments are individually lit as seen from an external view, but in the cockpit, they are not ... which is a pity. At the moment, night flying is not really possible, as the alternative is to fly with cockpit floodlights on which is a non-starter. Hopefully this will be addressed at some point ... as will the 'see through stars issue' ;)

Yea the cockpit lighting is definitely off.
Turn on the cockpitlights low over London, bank your aircraft a bit and you suddenly light up hundreds of buildings around you... never knew they used such strong spotlights in WW2 planes.

isnt there a dial to vary the intensity? I know there is on one aircraft at least.

There not individually lit, It looks like its coming from one light source but just not correctly done. Thats why some gauges are brighter then others.

I also noticed the night-time star field is visible behind aircraft, instead of being hidden.

I haven't tried night flying yet so i can't comment on the bugs, but from my recollection most of the real aircraft of the time didn't have individually lit instruments.

Usually it was just a combination of floodlights and fluorescent paint on the dials. You can clearly see the floodlights in the cockpits, not only in CoD but in IL2:1946 too.

Talking of lights and such, I flew over London about 2000hrs. I was surprised to see buildings have lights.

You can see them in the distance. Not exactly a great SS though.

The more I play around with CoD the more you spot details.

Beeeaauuutiful shot, but yes, what the heck happened to the blackout curtains?! When it's fixed, this game will be without equal.

It is nice, but this would make it quite easy for bombers to find any towns in the night, so it was ordered by authorities to cover every single window at evenings and nights... So big towns and cities were quite dark in that war times...

Are you shure those are lights, and not the light of the setting sun reflecting in windows? Impressive either way :)

I can asure you, that those are simulated lights.

Initially I did the cross country flight at 2000hrs, and that's when I noticed it and thought I should see what London is like.

Also, as it gets later, lights start going out on the buildings.

If you fly high though, they are not rendered.

I see a lot of people being fined for not obeying wartime blackout on that screenshot
