Hi there,
since the game is out ive read alot here in the forums to see if there is any help for performane increase but guys ... this is horrible. Have like on free flight over London 3-5 FPS (thats what i would atleast call uplayable or flip-book).
Settings ingame are: res 1680x1050 all to low execpt flightmodel (medium)
I have a i7 860, 6 GBRam, GTS240 Win 7 64 and thats kinda not enough for the game?
sure the GTS240 is not the best card overall but it isnt THE WORST ONE either...
heres the core part from user.ini:

If anyone could suggest me how to tweak this (PLEASE DONT TELL ME I HAVE TO LOWER THE RESULTION ITS AWKWARD) would be wonderfull. Or any kind of hint to increase the preformance ...
help :-(

oh okay then... perhaps wait for the patch/s to come along? until then, perhaps, turn grass off, set forest to low and set the buildings amount to low. Also in cockpit, turn the mirror off and disable the clickable cockpit.

If anyone could suggest me how to tweak this (PLEASE DONT TELL ME I HAVE TO LOWER THE RESULTION ITS AWKWARD) would be wonderfull. Or any kind of hint to increase the preformance ...Well your PC is about the same as mine, except for graphics card. I have an i7 930, 6GB ram, Win 7 64 bit. But I have an AMD 6970, and I can dogfight over london with max settings with reasonable fps and without stuttering.
Most reports suggest that video ram is an issue, and the actual GC might have a fair impact too.
So unfortunately I think you only have 3 options:
1) Wait for more patches and see what happens
2) Drop your resolution - I know you think it's awkward, but I think that's the only way at the moment with your GC. How difficult can it be, it's just a few lines in the appropriate config file.
3) Get a new GC.
Given those choices, I'd start with number 2.

I think it might be your graphics card. I just looked it up and its not even 1gb, and I think this game needs that from the graphics card. Everything else looks good. I get 50 fps average when over london(everything low except high model, high damage decal, high effects).
Here is my setup
CPU: X4 965BE
Mobo: MSI 870-A
GPU: GTX 460
Ram: 4gb DDR3 Corsair
OS: Win7 Professional 64bit

well thats a total disappointment. Means i have to spend atleast over 100€ for an adequat GC and already spend almost 50€ for the game so 150€ just to play IL2COD is a bit too much for me.
anyway thx guys for your quick response ill try to wait for a few more patches and see if theres any chance of improve. However the game itself is great!

No disrespect intended, but I am amazed that people think they will be able to play a cutting edge sim with older graphics technology. I have a 9800 GTS and I fully expect to upgrade before even trying this game. I see people complaining about not being able to play the game and they have 512mb memory on their card...as games progress the vram requirements only get larger, not smaller. I understand that the game was released in a less than stellar state, but seriously, pay the money for a card that will be dx11 compliant with 2gb ram and you will be set for a while. Whether you are doing it to play this game or another it will be worth it. I am shooting for at least a nvidia 460 gtx with 2gb ram (about $225 usd) from newegg. The 570 and 580 cards are a tad out of my price range.
p.s. even if you have to wait 3-4 months to buy the card...by then the game should be well up on it's feet and you'll be coming in at the right time! I'll get some of the other config info for you in the mean time, hopefully it will help.

Ok from most people the settings that make the most difference are:
Setting resolution at or lower than 1920x1200
Buildings and trees set to low, or trees off.
Grass off
Roads off
Mirrors off
There is something about setting Processaffinitymask to 15 for a 4 core processor, but that is for intel and I am not sure how it will work for AMD.
I know it is a pain to have to turn this all down. All of you system specs look great except the video card...unfortunately all of these settings tax your video card tremendously. Hope this helps!

try a res of 1280 x 900 or there abouts and then increase AA if its working

Quite honestly I think some of you guys are just too much of a fanboys. I'm a big one too but seriously dudes...come on.
The only way I can half-decently play the game over water with one opposing plane is to set everything to lowest and even then it's not what I would call smooth and when I do set everything to lowest of low I get something that looks like I'm back in the early 90's playing some "sim" on my 486...that's silly. I can play il2 46 at apsolute perfect so smooth I don't even bother with displaying fps as I could play il2 on perfect settings 3 rigs ago and it looked eons away better than what I have to do with CoD to get like 15-25 fps range.
I could turn pages on a book faster than what CoD runs right now for God's sake...
That's just so wrong in so many ways I don't even know where to start.
BTW my specs:
AMD X2 @2800MHz(I can easily get it to 3.0GHz this is silence/economy mode)
4GB DDR2
ATI HD4850 512MB
And yes I do expect to be able to play CoD at a level where it atleast does not look like early 90's "square chasing square" sim and at decent fps...
They only reason why I refused to complain so far is:
I'm apsolutely 100% sure the Team will fix this game with patch(es) in the best possible way they can, I've been with il2 since 2003 and it was apsolutely the most pleasant journey I had with any product ever, the only thing surpassing them being my 15 years old never been broken car...
So yeah I know they will fix it the best they can and will not complain but seriously this response was solely in light of expectations/hardware/performance ratio you mentioned with which I can not agree with...
