View Full Version : What kind of straps did they use on WW II planes?

Must've been some serius bondage stuff since it limits the head turning to about 45 degrees in any direction!

Could we get another 45 degrees to it pwease? Feels kinda silly not being able to look to the side.

Well in the RAF types it was a bondage device. A thing called the Sutton Harness. 5 or so Canvas webbing straps about 6Cm wide with a number of Holes with brass eyelets around them. The straps were placed over a central post on one of the harness straps With all Straps over the post a locking pin was then placed through the central post to retain the straps on it.
