Sorry, there is no dive siren on the Stuka that I could detect (maybe this will be added?)

What is impressive, is that you can open the little dive aiming window (between the pilots feet), and that there is a fully working Reihenabwurfgeraet (an automatic dive pull-out and bomb drop mechanism), just like in the real stukas.

A Stuka without a siren? That's like a beer can... without beer in it.:(

Well to be fair that should be the least of our concerns right now, besides if it doesnt come with a future update, some modder will do the trick.

With the reports of the aircraft sounds being a little bit grim i.e The fly past sounds of all aircraft are identicle apart from the G50, would it be possible to mod these sounds, some of the modded Il2 sounds are incredible?

Can confirm no horn on the stuka.

Maybe something has changed, dunno but just using the air brake = no horn.

as far as anything is simulated there is possibly a switch for it :-D

I read a few books on the subject and Stuka pilots do not seem to mention the siren ever.

In fact they never mention the automatic dive pull-out either, and they often bombed without even using the dive breaks if there was enemy fighters near, so they could build up speed for a fast getaway!

As usual in most military things there are 3 histories -

What the official instructions said
What the history books say
and...what actually happened!

but it would be nice to have a siren option !

maybe the siren is activable by a key

Afaik the siren should be activated when the air-brakes is activated, which it doesn't.

A number of memoires and reports I've read (eg Alfred Price's "Hardest Day") mention that the Horn was often (if not always) removed. Issue being the aircrew felt they were slow enough already and had it removed to reduce drag.

If wikipedia is correct the siren was a short lived attachment at the outbreak of the war.
After the enemy became used to it, they were to be withdrawn. The devices also caused a loss of some 20–25 km/h (10-20 mph) through drag.

Well guys if there is the ability to sound mod I will definately make one that will refit the external sounds, flypasts and weapons plus the system sounds etc.

Can someone have a look to see how the sounds are stored in the game, look to see if you can find any folder(s) with sound files inside relating to the aircraft.
If so a straight switch usually works. If not, then they will be packaged inside data archives or cabs probably, so an SDK kit is needed to unpack and repack the archives.

Did anyone mod this into the game?

No dive siren.

No change in engine tone even in a dive from 20,000ft.

They sound just lawnmower engine.

yep i really hope this is added as they still used it in the BoB

they could come as a removable option, since they do affect performance.

For some good sound reference check out this clip between 0.30 and 0.50
