295 nice card can still take on dx10 games compared to the latest set of cards pity mine decided to blow up in my face, but now I have a 5970 and its still going strong.

Nice screens. It is understandable that you`d need a monster rig to run this @40fps for instance. But in the early days of IL2 it wasn`t anything special. Mose ppl got on the high settings 2 years after release. I`d say today we need to run the game at this fps with most options turned down, though the graphics really need to be better than in IL-2 1946, even at low settings.

I see. So is that as good as the landscape gets under current settings? Hopefully they can tweak the pacific blue out of those little rivers a bit.

Did you have your mirrors on, I dont have the game yet, but apparently that kills the frames?

Nice shots, thanks.

the ground looks terrible. Something wrong with your settings.

Yeah, I think it must be a settings problem, the terrain is very Il2 at taht alt.

Hmm, looks like it could really use some antialiasing.

I don't think AA works. I set it to 4x but it doesn't do anything. Also tried forcing from the Nvidia panel but still no go.

Nice screens. I have a small question since i'm not familiar with nVidia's naming convention past the 8800/9800 series: is the 295 you are using a DX10 generation card?

You see, the reason i'm asking is that i have an Ati 4890 1GB and i wonder how well late DX10 cards compare to mid-range DX11 cards when running in DX10 mode.

I don't expect to fly this at maximum or even high, if i can get 30 FPS or so at medium settings i'll be happy (after the first couple of patches that fix the stutters).
The rest of my specs are an i7 920 (stock speeds) on an Asus P6T Deluxe mobo and 3GB of RAM (i might upgrade RAM to be honest).

Do you guys think it's possible to run comparable frame rates to a mid-range DX11 GPU on an otherwise similar system, or will i be starring at the collector's edition box until i upgrade? :-P

Pleae tell me you had terrain detail down?Terrain looks great to me. The last pic looks like a watercolour, not sure why that is, if it's just due to angle, but generally I think those shots are amazing.

I don't know what it's going to take for the team to get this running properly (as opposed to waiting 10 years for our PCs to get quicker), but I'm praying they come up with something. Knowing the effort they've put into the flight and damage models, this could be incredible.

Ahahahaha I can't believe people are actually complaining at those shots. Seriously what in hell kind of fantasy game are you envisioning? Those make every other combat flight sim ever released look like rotting garbage.

Yes if I was to compare it to real bloody life I could find faults but this just in: ALL OF THIS IS PICTURES GENERATED IN REAL TIME INSIDE YOUR MAGIC COMPUTER BOX.

I do find it amusing as well people are complaining about these graphics. The majority of them are children / teenagers that probably can't afford the latest HW. It goes to show what kind of ppl they really are.

The screenshots look great. Looking forward to getting my hands on the game!

i have added more screens

the fact that the terrain looks weird is maybe due to anti aliassing off, the new set of screens with the Tiger Moth trainer are with antialiasing 8x

i will try to make more sreens with different weather settings, need to figure out how to do that in the full editor.

Meanwhile, if someone has other ideas and wants to see somthing else in particular, let me know.

ps: as i have stated, the general performance never exceeded 10-11 FPS when i was taking the screenshots with FRAPS at such settings with my yet 'old' gtx295, i got also antiepilepcy=0 and some other minor and so far known tweaks in the conf.ini

Thanks Highness for these great screenshots! I love the light in the Tiger Moth ones, really nice.

Would you be able to post some similar shots of the He-111 or Ju-87 at low (ish) level? It's great to see the potential that this game has regardless of the early bugs. All the best.

going on a G1.Assassin running 12GB DDR3-1600 and an I7-990x...

Save your money and get a single GTX 580, preferably one that you can OC insanely* - this game doesn't support SLI/CF and this something which 590/6990 cards rely on.

*MSI GTX 580 Lightning comes to mind (with its own custom power regulation).

added a bit more of screens in the first post, reached the 30 images limit! i have played a bit with photoshop and processed some images into b&w for fun...

here are the other screens:

unfortunately, i didn't really succeed in creating bad weather screenshots because that part is bugged and broken in the mission editor, furthermore when i attempted to create a localized weather trigger (storm) and tried to fly in that area, the performace reached 0 FPS  something i have never seen in any game lol

Does the pilot head (model observed from external view) move indicating where the player PoV is oriented?

For instance, when watching a track from external view can one see the pilot head move in accordance to what was recorded? When flying close formation, can one notice the other pilot looking down at his panel or over his shoulder, nodding the head?

I'm wondering this as well. Does the pilot head pivot to the direction he looks?

Thanks for posting, good to see examples but PLEASE refrain from editing in Photoshop :)! I was looking at your latest lot on the first page and was scratching my head at the inconsitant hue-casts; until I came across the B&W shot, hadn't realised they'd been messed with! - I think people here would would be much more interested in seeing unadulterated colour palettes, we can always Photoshop our own :D

FYI bad weather (and dynamic weather more generally) has been temporally disabled until 1C can get acceptable performance from the game engine. Luther said a while ago you could enable it, but the option to do so will be buried deep in the menus/config - it is apparently utterly unplayable in current state ;)

In some we see the pilot looking over his shoulder. however, I wasn't sure if that was AI movement or a "track replay" of the movement you, the player, made when recording the track.

Anyway, thanks for the news.
