Can someone help me understand something?
3 or 4 years ago, when DCS:BS was first released, my squadmates and I were able to download the Russian version of the software, from the DCS site on the day of release.
We had to struggle through Cryllic that we didn't understand, but we made it and were playing very quickly.
I've seen many discussions/complaints of why the European version is not available in the Western Hemisphere. One theory that the software had to await ESRB ratings. This was not true for DCS:BS so why should it be true for CoD?
Could it be that there isn't enough server bandwidth to support the simultaneous download, worldwide of hundreds of thousands of customers? The only practical difference I can see between DCS:BS and CoD is that it has the potential for a much larger user base - due to the popularity of Il2 and WW2 themed software.
S!

Its Ubi fault, thats why Eagle Dynamics rocks, no publisher.

CloD is being released next month because there are other AAA games being released RIGHT NOW. Crysis 2, Home Front come ti mind. Also, Dragon Age 2 and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood were just released about 2 weeks ago.
I think Ubisoft is trying to maximize their profit at US by delaying. IL-2 is stronger at other parts of the world, so it should stand well against these releases. In the US, it'll just get drowned out.

And none of those games would trump COD for a flight sim fan as we all are, 6 years or more waiting for this game..CRYSIS2 can WAIT..

Ubisoft wants more than just the core flight sim fans. They figured that we can wait another month (Seriously, what's gonna happen, us not buying it because of 20 day delay?)

Its simple as with many Russian game releases, they (Russian fans) basically do the beta testing for the developers. It is a more game (developer) friendly place.
Trust me the 20 or so days are going to give you at least three or four updates to download ;)
I agree with the previous poster that suggests Ubisoft wants to cash in on its core game market in the US first. Let's face it, dad may love his flight sims but the kids want to play the latest shooter. Why split the money between the two, give the kids what they want now and dad afterwards.
If they wait too long with their triple A games the pirates...
Well we all know how quick they are .
