LOL
I know the feeling!
Hopefully my current computer will be enough at mid-range settings! It will be a while before I can have a substantial upgrade!

My 2600k + Mobo + 580 order has been pending for more than a month now due to the chipset issues they discovered. But I got a message from the retailer that they should have it this week.
So if stars align perfectly I might end up in a fantasy-become-true situation of a brand new rig with a brand new IL-2 by friday this week. I'll need some pills to calm me down should that lottery hit the mark!

I think mine will handle it fine unless i'm over a large city. If I need to upgrade anything it'll be the video card ( 8800GT ) and even now new video cards are not that much.

For quality games like this (hoping) I want to pay full price. i pay extra for quality but won't pay cheaply for rubbish.

Put some money in a good cooler and OC the 2600k to 4,6 GHz.
You will be amazed with the speed that this system can show, mate.
Fast like hell, I can guarantee this to you.

Yep, even the old I7 OC:s nicely to 4.1hghz with Noctua D14 :P. 3.99ghz without pumping up the voltages.

Don't release too quickly LOL
We've been waiting 6 years :)
Seriously though, I am wondering how well my rig will run this thing.

I think most of us are wondering how well our rigs will hold up to this beast. I fear/hope/believe it will crush most modern machines at full tilt, but at least be runnable somewhere in the middling range of settings.

Well as soon as you guys have your rigs up and game loaded, I want benchmarks! Mostly people with the 2500k and 580gtx! May be my future setup to replace my q6600.

I will be able to do it just after April 19th, but I pretend to benchmark the 2600k both stock and OC to see if we have any improvements (It probably will do since is a CPU bound title)
