Thanks for the link.
Nice screenshots I have never seen before :)

Can't understand a single word in that review but, then again, pictures say more than a thousand words. Very impressive.

The day of release will be our finest hour. Be sure!

Cheers.

You are right. "Never in the field of WW2 flight simulators was so much owed by so many gamers to so few russian developpers"

Great read, best update yet, just hit google translate, it does a fair job, lots of questions asked on the forum are answered here.

you remember the Ju88 cockpit with crewmembers in one of the moskau gameshow videos.. :)

I vote: best screenshots ever!
That shot with the Wellington's is my favourite.

Perhaps Furbs could set this in the update thread?

Great shots! Looking forward to this simulation. Although i find (very personal) the scenery a little too cartoonish at times. Like the first shot in this preview (Dover cliff) reminded me very much of 'Settlers', or such kind of games.

I found this intresting:

The pc used in this article was a:

Процессор: Core 2 Duo E8600@3.33 GHz
Память: 2 GB DDR2 PC2-8500
Видеокарта: GeForce GTX460 1GB
Звуковая карта: SB Creative X-Fi
ОС: Win 7 Professional

and according to the article max settings only gave u a few fps off line but online (with much smaller map) 50-70 fps.

Cool if true.

Maby not 50-70 but still much higher due to smaller map.

Awesome to see the su-26 cockpit in sim. I think I will have tons of fun just flying around in this sim.

I posted this in a different thread but it seems apt here too. Options screenshots all together.

Anybody found out what the bar in the lower left hand corner in the OP are for?

Some of the pics of the two engine aircraft have two bars?

JG53Frankyboy

i would guess the throttle setting (i "can" see a small T in it..)

The HE-111 only has one bar etc

well, most propably the autor was sitting in a singleengined plane but made screenshot from other planes in the outside view.
See the Wellington, the throttle is at idle, and the Wellingot is not flyaable in CoD.
So, he perhaps was still on the runway, but switched in outside view to other aircraft in the mission.

Is the BF109 pilot new?

Pilot looks bigger and sat upright? ( unless it's an old pic)

not like the stupid Spitfire pilots who are all laid back..I wince to myself everytime I see the Spit pilot...

and nice to see what Oleg's modern civilian flightsim will look like !! ;)

Interesting pics Rodolphe. Looks like the issues with weathering not being applied properly to markings is solved now, this looks very convincing to me.

is that the 64bit Win7 or 32?

I think (?) the Spitfire pilots may be new now too - see the shot with the Spit with open canopy over the convoy.

Pilot looks bigger here too.

It's an option for engine management.

(Can't find the post just now - was from around the time of the exhaust stack flame debate.....) Luthier posted some screenies of a Hurricane with 3 of those sliders - for throttle (marked with letter 'T' in today's screenies), mixture and propellor pitch (I think).

So, obviously can set up to have as many as you want - or none.

Not sure if it has already been addressed here, but what would be the point of having your Vertical convergence being set for closer/farther than your Horizontal convergence?

I'll speculate wildly here.

We know "physical weathering" is for modeling the deterioration of various mechanical systems in the airplane. I speculate that the guns and their mountings can wear out so they no longer shoot in exactly the correct spot, and the individual convergence options are used to correct each individual gun's alignment.

Maybe I'm totally wrong, though.

Oleg's Modern Flight Sim? Really? Any details?

Stiboo
02-25-2011, 11:47 AM
Because we have a modern acrobatic aircraft included with COD!

Oleg is preparing us for a future modern version of his flightsim engine.
Why else include this plane which has nothing at all to do with the Battle Of Britain?

Can't think of any other reason for the bizarre inclusion of this plane, other than testing the waters for the future?

But I am happy to have an extra plane for nothing in COD considering the time and effort it takes to make one.

it for acrobatic flights maneuvers & training.

Nice whine.

It's for testing the flight model to a verifiable reference.

Time will tell all !

If it's only for testing data then why make cockpit and skin it?

Only 1 model of the Bf109E included in the sim... But we have huge amount of time devoted to a modern plane... ;)

Because when it is tested by aerobatic pilots they will also fly a simulation and not a rc-plane!

Coen020
02-25-2011, 04:04 PM
Also a lot of people do air races and stuff in il-2 1946, so this plane was made for them.

oh and thanks Furbs:grin:

Oleg's an avid aerobatics pilot. Probably has a lot of time in the Sukhoi 26. He has no time in 109, Spit etc. He can gauge if the simulated flightmodel physics are right in the Sukhoi 26. If they're good in the Su26 they work for everything. It's one of the first aircraft I saw work in progress pictures of years ago.

Stiboo
02-25-2011, 05:05 PM
Yes I do agree with all that is said !

Yes it makes sense to build a modern plane to test the game engine/physics but there was no SU26 in the Battle Of Britain, and what has real Russian pilots using it to practice on got to do with the Battle Of Britain? and you can air race with any of the WW2 planes..

I would rather have more versions of the 109E and a proper Spitfire pilot than a fully detailed Su26...

But...I still think that it is logical to use the COD engine to make a modern civil flightsim to take over from FSX....i'm sure this would mean many more sales..and I think this is what Oleg / 1c plan to do !

I am in favour of a modern day COD !
