Constant crashes on victory

I'm having some serious problems playing this game - it keeps crashing when I win a battle. It's so bad I can barely finish the first island.

The crashes happen after the last enemy dies, but just before the debrief window pops up.

If it happens once with a group of enemies I'd say there's an 80% chance it will happen again the next time I try to beat the same group so it's not entirely random. Running around and fighting other enemies sometimes helps, but I've got 5/6 groups of mobs on the first island I'm scared to go near.

This is incredibly frustrating and happening near-constantly, I played for an hour before heading to work and suffered maybe 6 crashes with different enemies.

Playing the steam version valhalla edition, ice and fire installed, using a couple mods (big font, interface mod, minimap stars on hard and extreme zoom), but I removed the mods and the crashes still happen.

I've had to continually stop services, close programs, lower game Options, etc. to keep WotN running. I've even kept a floor fan blowing on the cpu to cool it off. My PC is dual core and getting old. My laptop is quad core and does better but still crashes when there are sudden flashes during combat.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just play the game?

I've checked file integrity and I'm now running in admin AND compatibility mode, which helps a bit. I've cleared most of the "problem" groups without (many) crashes, but it's still happening way more often than I'd like =/

It seems such a specific trigger that it's really frustrating that nobody else on this board seems to have mentioned it.

Okay, no I'm fairly certain the rash is caused when I win while my Mystic's "Empathy" skill is active. Is this a known bug?

Thank you man , u saved my day. I also encountered this crash.

Solution is to dont end battle with Enthropy on , or use 2 Mystics:
When one Mystic activate Enthropy , second use from another Mystic clears effect.
This is very good way to quickly gain exp for them when u can prolong fight.
