Realistic is dead

I used to play nothing but realistic but for about the last month I cant even find a game and have been playing arcade and a little sim EVERYONE is playing gt5 I sometimes wonder in luetenantdan died in front of his tv with gt5 on lol hes always on I miss the good old days with 10+ player realistic games I cant seem to find any with more then 3 now thats when I find them at all I hope il2 is not dieing on me I still think its the best game ever made live damn you live

seems to go in cycles. for awhile games were scarce ( xbox )...then one night everyone showed up. had 12 to 16 fliers in all sorts of games. was great. then started to die off again. hang in there...

Mav, you're right. Realistic has croaked. Those games were a blast. We need to pry the steering wheels out of their hands. However.....Sim has really picked up in the past week or so. I have had a bunch of great games with 8+ in the lobbies. Guys from Europe at about 4 eastern and U.S. guys around 10 at night. Lots of times I'm on I see you on as well, but you are usually already in a game. If I find a good one, I'll send you a message and ask the host to wait for you if u'd like.

I hadn't played IL-2 for about 8 months due to my very remote location, but after I moved in november and dusted off the PS3 from being in storage, I put my beloved IL-2 back in and guess what?...nobody was out there in cyber space flying around. So I decided to get in a little training time to get reaquainted with the controls. A little later I went back online and...no one was out there AGAIN, except for one guy in arcade in a CTA game. After that 1 game he disappeared. So I took my beloved IL-2 out and popped in my shiny new GT-5. One month later It's still in there..........

As mentioned I think it goes in cycles.
I'm the same as Dan and other IL2ers at the minute playing GT5. That said the IL2 regulars are playing GT together so in essence the game has been changed but the crew stays the same. If only IL2 had the options GT5 had such as private lounges and the ability to report or kick someone!
I really hope for a sequel but as stated elsewhere the lack of info does not inspire confidence but I live in hope.
The guys I play IL2 with are all enjoying the treetop crash fest tournament at the minute so I'll wait until that's over before I jump back in.

i really miss playing realistic :( i dont have the "equipment" for sim, and im not a big fan just prefer it!!!! again imo ofc realistic is more fun, sim is very serious with its flying clubs ect ect.............. though a certain aircraft was taboo of limits as no one seems to fly it teh spit's untill McQ messaged me to tell me to pull the dust sheet off it ;)


bring back the days of epic strike, TB's and for certain players Dogfights................ and the air races :D

You say that you need "equipment" for sim. What is the flight stick of choice out there... assuming this is what your talking about.

Sorry Goose.I personally have had problems wiyh my neck.But I`m back now.Yhe last week I have been putting Gt5 aside to revive our game.You start lookin in the evening sky.Weve been having large rooms and I meet a new pilot to the game allmost everytime I fly.So stick around all hope is not lost.C`ya in the clouds!

Ive been obsessed with aircraft after playing 'secret weapons over normandy'. When i 1st started playing BoP online i began in realistic, i flew the he-111 in dogfights as it was the only thing i could keep in the air without going into a spin as soon as i tried to chase someone. Was about may to june last year. I was living in a tent and cost me $10 in fuel to get on IL2 and even then it was for a brief moment. After my job finished i came back to technology and focused on IL2. I began to use fighters and i got shot down so much, if i got a kill i was happy. From the He-111 i went to the I-16.. then to the lavochkins. After a lot of frustration.. i began to fly properly and now, im still learning. Whoever ive flown with was my teacher as i learnt a lot from the way they flew their own planes. Now i fly the BF109 g-10 almost exclusively, easy to fly, not much recoil so its easy to get in deflective shots. I`m totally useless in a spitfire. So thank you to all the people ive flown with as they made me a better pilot. *play macgyver theme song* :)

I am starting to get to grips with sim but I really need to get a bigger screen for it.
Anyway I will keep playing till the skies are totally empty or BoP2 comes out

I think the game would have died long ago without great players like you, McQ and Mac.
My aim for this year is to get competitive in sim by christmas. The pasting I got by Olife and Reaper in the tournament tells me I have a long way to go!!

yeah thats the very thing, if its for the Ps3 the thrustmaster is the only one ....... but i cant be sure, but i neeed to get me one lol
