I am getting really tired of players quitting during games. It seems to be getting worse. I Can't remember it being this bad before. I used to play long games and they were great but players started quitting after just five minutes if they thought they were going to lose. I then started shorter games but its just as bad. I'm getting so frustrated with the whole thing I'm considering putting the game back in it's box. I really don't want to because I love playing B.O.P. It seems the worst culprits are Russians French and Italians why I don't know but it always seems so. Players from the U.S. are far better at hanging in until the games ends. I'm in Europe by the way just in case you think I'm being unfair. I was thinking of posting names as a kind of "name and shame" but not sure if that's the right thing to do. I would love some feedback from other gamers with suggestions or feedback on this serious problem.

It happens. If it really bothers you, the only thing you can do is find a bunch of regulars on here, for whatever game mode you play, and just play with them.

Yes I have a few buddies that I play online with but its difficult to meet them on a regular basis due to timezone variations. You are exactly right the only way it seems is to just have your own group of players together. Its a shame.

It depends on which side quits. If its my own team I dont mind as I don't mind losing and enjoy the challenge when odds are stacked but I hate it when other team quit as it means I will pull back to even the odds a bit. I hate flying round doing nothing till the game ends.
If it's a host that quits then that's blacklist and I avoid his games

Sadly it's one of those none of us can control. But admit there are the persistent offenders across all three modes, normally the scoreboard whores who think by quitting it won't effect them. As DK says, black list them. Add them to your block list and provided your hosting they won't be able to get in. And agree with Zatoichi get a good group of regular friends, fly together, understand each other- in essence get the squadron effect. Then go hunting!!!!

I wish I had not found out about the people continually quiting the missions. For the longest time I have thought it was a problem with my ps3 or internet (I was able to put up with that). Thanks to this thread I clearly recognize, it is the same fliers and it occurs right before the game ends. The best we can do is look for a game hosted by someone who will be there at the end. I don't mind taking a beating here and their and really enjoy the real winners that let the missions conclude!!!!

It happens. Stack the odds against someone enough and sure enough they will be compelled to leave. For example, 1vs1 3min Strike game in Arcade, using and Arado-234 against a I-16.
I haven't played with another Russian that ever quit, so I hope your not just saying that to insult us.

I actually agree with Korsakov here. Irish, Its not wise to brand players from certain countries as quiters. Nationality does not affect how one plays a game. You have just been unlucky to come across some quiters that coincidently are from the same place.

There is nothing saying it would be against the forum rules but keep in mind that personal attacks are not welcome and if things escalate to a point where it is then the thread will become locked, infractions and or bans will be given.

Fair enough. Thanks for the heads up.
A player by the PSN ID of 'bear9726-reborn' hosts/joins Arcade CTA matches w/ two airfields and he quits when he's losing with llittle time remaining. He tries to rush your team's airfield using a Hurricane with bombs at the beginning.

I had 2 arcade matches this morning and both hosts quit with less than a minute left on the clock. One of the hosts is not new so I was surprised. I won't name him but let's just say The Hindenburg is a big clue.
If I see those hosts in someone elses game they will receive some extra care and attention

it is really funny to see how people are really not happy and angry when the others guys quite in this game,it is just a game, some guys quite because they play "for the leaderboard",some guys quite because they loose or some guys quite for many others reasons,it is not very important, not my problem and not a REASON to block them in the "black list",it is hard to find a game and personnaly i wait a long time to find one or i wait a long time to find other players when i create a game and if everybody start to block everybody we will "kill" this nice console game ourself!!...but i can understand u are nervous ...everybody have is own character...

It may take a few days but it does seem to work. Having tested it with friends the blocked player gets a join error when they try to get in. Not saying it's foolproof but it seems to sort the issue most times.

Quitters are a minor irritant at the end of the day. The only player on BoP who deserves a real name and shame is Cassecouboy. When his plane is spiraling uncontrolably after being shot up on realistic he drops a bomb just before hitting the deck to guarantee the player who shot him up doesnt get awarded a kill.
That guy is a disgrace to the game and I told him as much last time he joined a TB. He is public enemy number one for me and if I ever see him in a match all other players can rest easy as my guns only have eyes for him

I won't take back what I said. I have seen it with my own eyes. There is zero chance of getting an opponent kill in team battle with a bomb. He is technically a good flyer so he will know this. Anyway sorry if I upset you but I guess you haven't seen him do this yet

What all of them/us? Come on... You can't just lump everyone from the west together. In the same way that people can't make huge generalisations about any other nationality (even the French! :) )
How about taking people as you find them? If someone's a d*** it's because they are a d***, not because of where they were born.

These sort of complaints about quitters and certian players style of play when confronted by other players; will always be around. The schoolyard of such complaints will also prevail, because lets not forget people this a game! and everyone plays it in their own way, bringing their own prejudices and opinions with them.
Evidently some of these styles of play only happen when confronted by certain players, i can say i have observed all of the mickey mouse behavior mentioned to be true with all the players mentioned but i have seen games when equally fulcrum and orion didn't quit where they were losing.
As for cassecouboy why he flies the way he does i don't know, but people should know he will do everything in his power to deny you a kill, this includes; crashing himself and blowing himself up with the bombs he carries in all modes on his normal spitfire. Maybe you have not seen this olife, but i can assure you he does do it, He also not afraid to jump into a tail-gun to secure a win.
However let also be known all these mentioned are the ones who concern themselves most with the leader board perhaps as suggested earlier on this thread, that this is why they do it. If you see them continually hosting the same kind of game dogfight team battle etc. That means their out to boost their leader board score and are only out to play for a win.

I went to Alaska earlier this year. After I got out of the Airport, I was called a illeagle immigrant, and shipped to Kamchatka by boat and it took me a week just to get back to Moscow. So those few hours is all I need to make a few judgements. And even before that in Afghanistan I heard that we knew that the U.S.A were giving weapons to our enemies. And years later in the 90s after that accident during one of the war games, thats enough for me to want a war.
Forgive me, I don't mean to offend anyone. I have suffered much grief in the past from them.

But you can't blame everyone in the west for the actions of one country's government. I think the way Europe has handled Russia in the past, in most circumstances, is appalling. I think the way the U.S. is treating Russia right now, is a whole new level of stupidity I didn't think was possible before. But I'm not prejudiced against everyone in the U.S. nor against everyone in Europe.
I know this thread will descend into; 'But you gave weapons to the U.S. enemies in Vietnam before the 1980s' and then you'll say 'And you gave weapons to the Soviet enemies and invaded Russia before that' etc. etc.
I don't think it's going to benefit anyone, but some people love it. That's why this is the nth 'Name and shame' thread on here.

It's cool, the flip side is now the US are fighting in Afghanistan and the enemys weapon of choice (of course) the AK-47... what goes around comes around.
Sadly it seems like Afghanistan is just a good place to test weapons.

I quit very rarely, sometimes i do, not related to ladderboard or stuff, personally, i always write a message the host player about the reason of my quitting because i think it's a nice thing to do, like, leaving someone house without sayng good bye.
Lot of people have been quitting my game too, i don't mind, i just host another one, maybe adjusting a little weather condition or game type, and i don't expect the same courtesy i have from others.
Some night it's hard to find a good hosts, very few people flying, everyone with their own idea of fun. Some people likes to host 1942 30 min games with rain, some people like to host no time limit but point limit... some people like to fly at night, some just to CTA... it's a game after all. So, always take it easy.
Personally i like to play several 10 min games rather than few long one.
Last, but not least, i think that judging quiters from their nationality is very dumb.
Instead of posting a black list, I will try to post a list of good players.
The following people that definetly beat me up in this game, their flying ability is fair beyond mine, hardly reachable, 100% ace:
Olife
Mirgervin
Fighting against them will always teach you something new.
If you're looking for fair players ( in my opinion, of course) that not quit, feel free to add: MACADEMIC, brigboy, saintmora, dementia_seven, cap34 ( very good pilot! ), themeistor, qblackdeathq, Kavorland, wakespeak, The_Stapler, swoop117, wolfsalt, ace_viper, ace_hunter, skidlo42, tagemandbagem, Varcus2, firepilote, winny1973, Mage_016, cjddriver, Er-macina, U2RATTLEHUM, GA_JUSTICE, JOED70...I might be forgetting someone...

This thread ended up in a bad place, the tree trunk on dagobah. All the differences in peoples play styles can annoy but at the end of the day individuality is what makes things in life exciting.
It makes you adapt your play to them which is cool. I know if I wing cassecouboy I should follow him down and remove his wing before he gets to 500ft which is a nice diversion. If someone quits on my team we have an odds stacked match which I like to. And if other team quit I get to disengage and search for livestock.

I'm new here as a poster but have had the game a few months and had finally ventured online recently. I had the displeasure of meeting this "disturbe" Cassecoboy player in a 3 versus 3 team battle last night. The guy is a complete and deliberate cheater who does everything possible to steal a kill from you. I joined the game and laughed at first when I saw he had a bomb on his spitfire. How wrong was I. I've played with guys such as parallaxvue and easy d who told me early on that the gentlemans way to play was to bail out of a messed up aircraft which would then ensure the guy shooting you would get a credit. Cassecouboy does not bail but falls towards the earth before just blowing himself up as he hits the ground. I shot him down at least 5/6 times and all he did was boom! Kids like him should stick to cheaters paradises like CoD etc.
It has really put me off playing online anymore as I can stand deliberate cheaters and this guy really took the piss. it's hard enough finding games online to play without them then being played by such shysters.
I'm not going to say it's rife in the game as I really hope it isn't but this guy does nothing to suggest otherwise.
I'm sorry as this is my first post here and I came looking today to find out more about this cool game but it looks like this guy has been cheating for a long while previous.
I hope to fly with some decent players soon but I'm not going to bother for a while after last nights disgrace. If your reading this Casse, your a cheat and a disgrace to your fellow countrymen.
Buy an Xbox (we don't cheat!)....... ,
or.......
set up your own matches but use Strike and CTA maps for teambattles as these games are about teams losing tickets and the 'crashers' will soon have their team losing a ticket each time they crash - they usually lose! You will still have your Kills recorded but getting a kill is not as important as inflicting enough damage to force the other player to crash and the best players are denoted with the fewest deaths.

Add a boy mate.
First time a saw this player you refer to do as you describe over, I couldn't believe my eyes. The second time I did. Kind off pissed me off 2...
We are a bunch of players who meet kind of regularly to play this beautifull game. Mostly sim nowadays, but now and then an occationally realistic mission too. You are welcome to join anytime. If you feel a bit shaky about the sim-mode, just say the word. We gladly host a free-flight so you can adjust and get the hang of it. Had a few descent games with EasyD amongst others last night btw.
You're wellcome to add me to your friendslist; McQ59.

Lol See! Thanks for the advice- sadly I have a bill gates aversion!
I originally bought the game thinking it would have a better more mature audience. Up until last night I'd had great help and advice from all the people I'd played with- thanks to you all. It really spoilt my experience seeing such deliberate and malicious cheating. It suggests it's just a kid as I'd expect no less from my 10year old but having come on earlier and searched the threads it seems I am not the only one to have pointed this out and it's his primary tactic. I suppose it just demonstrates that the guy has no level of skill and makes up for this by cheating.
Thanks McQ, good to know there is decency out there.

Just had a game, 1vs1 Strike on Sim. My IL-4, against a P51B with no bombs on Korsun. As soon as our two planes meet in the center about a minute into the game, he gets on my six still trying to see my plane from 0.25km, I switch to gunner view and in 3 seconds he is shot down. So then I bomb the target, crash the plane(Limited FA), over and over again. I'm ahead by 80 tickets, 4 minutes left, and he quits.
The guy should have known better not to go in with no bombs against a bomber, common sense. I would have been a bit angry too, but I wouldn't quit.
