"Orc Campaign"
- Fixed a crash when the mouse's ability to "Knowledge of vulnerabilities" in Assassins.
- Fixed a bug in the recruitment of Orc-Shaman maximum adrenaline.
- Fixed a bug when using the spell "Poison Spit", "Black Hole" and "Rape of the Soul" in the arena with the bosses.
- Fixed the use of skill "Bone Gate" Skeletons at the Arena of Chaos.
- Fixed description of abilities Runnogo Sorcerer Faun and the Bone Dragon.
- Works correctly feature "Recruitment".
- The correct dialogue with Rock Porter, if not taking the job at finding spyware.
- Ability to Ancient treant "Call wasps no longer recharge skill" Running. "
"Defender of the Crown"
- Fixed a crash in the defeat in the battle for the medals.

This is a "beta" version of the patch to the forum.
The patch is compatible with old saved games (a new game start is not required).
Particularly interested in feedback of the holders of Windows 7 x64, anyone game does not start or crashes.

Scary how a lot of those fixes apply to me! Although, not sure if I want to use a beta patch especially since I use Impulse.

Does anyone know if it will work ok? I'm very curious how strong the new infernal dragon is since it will play a huge role in my demonish build. :)

Also, how can it be compatible if you "lose" the goblin shaman? Maybe they mean nerf it.

To be fair, there are too many orc units as it stands.

Of note
- This might revive the Paladin Class as a true powerhouse vs a shadow of the warrior class.
- With favorite enemy working per-battle, this means a Paladin, using Paladins and Inquisitors will potentially OUT damage the Warrior by about 20% (since favorite enemy works per unit type, this is sort of a rough number).

- Rune mages even stronger?
- From what I read, it seems to make the rune usage more efficient. It is possible you need less runes to get their maximum capabilities. I never found this to be a big deal to be honest. I almost always have spare runes.

- Goblins even stronger
- Wow. Just wow. Currently my goblins are the most overpowered unit in my team, and now they are about to get stronger? :) OK. :)

- Orcs stronger?
- OK. I won't complain as I am currently demolishing the game with both goblins and orcs.

- Leaders stronger?
- If they mean Orc Chieftain, yes. He seriously needs a buff. As it stands the Ogre is nearly a better fighter.

- Infernal Dragon stronger
- YES. I am not going to spend 60 mana for a piece of junk unit. Their saving grace is the +1 morale bonus for demons, but who the hell uses demons? (well I will in my next game haha). I hope they lower the mana requirements, but I doubt it. By end game, summons are almost never worth it compared to say phantom. :( If the mana requirements aren't lowered, it won't be used competitively.

I sort of miss beating White Kraken with a "weak" team and getting lots of relatively easy XP. :( I hope they up the reward then.

Now most of them I didn't expected.

-Now those goblins are gonna be like the devil. Archers won't have a chance against them (except for fire arrow which does damage and reduce morale)
-I suppose the "loose" is a typo and they will be gone from the game (and I still haven't fought against them)
-Runes wizards baby!!

-I would ask for a white kraken unit (for naval battles XD)
-Nike-it, add the correction for the mistranslation in this patch please.

I've been to the Russian forum, and I'd say, this is Google translated.
From what I understood, Goblin Shamans are just Weakened, not Erased.
I also think that there were some complaints about this Beta Patch.(That it didn't work, or something, but I am not sure.)
I suppose it is best to wait for the official English Patch.

Sounds like you need a base install of it (perhaps not even with the hotfix), so that's probably why a lot of the installs failed.

Yeah, I will wait, eagerly so. :) How long does it take for them to crank these out normally?

Better wait since the hotfix doesn't solve all the problems, and this one having problems in the Russian forum, I think we should wait. Plus Nike-it must say if they're adding the mistranslations corrections to it.

OK, I also think we should wait for fully operational complete patch, but how long? Maybe in New Year 2011 good patch for crossworlds would be available?

Another solution - maybe now purchase russian version crossworlds - but why patches for v. RU are available significantly earlier, not simultaneously with v. ENG.

Guys, please wait for official patch, the russian version, especially beta is not the best variant for english versions of the game.
As soon as the beta is out, full patch will be available very soon, I'm sure it will be released simultaneously with russian one.

@MarcinI0; Well since the game is the same and the only difference is the language, the only downside is that we don't have it to test it; but we'll probably have it close to the official launch of the Russian one.

Guess they use the Russian version as a mold and when is okay, they update the others.

Actually, in my current playthrough as a Mage Trapper Style, I have found trap works as intended.

I'm not sure how to reproduce the error again, or maybe it was all in my head.

Easy, pull or knock an enemy into a trap when he still has AP and he wont loose them.

those in Champion of the Arena (battle with the hero who is a trap specialist) definitely don't. Those griffins that step on a trap still have AP.

In OOTM? I'm seriously confused, i've replicated this bug at least 100 times, trying get the bleeding trap medal. I've been using knock back dragon thingy or guardian drone for it. I am running the hotfix though on the gold edition version (non steam version).

Yeah, in OOTM, I just got the Level 3 Trapper medal.

I'm not sure how losing Action Points has anything to do with getting the medal though.

Your knock-back or guardian drone (or emerald dragon, or telekinesis from archmage) has to knock them into the trap, then kill them in one go. The unit killed cannot be your own and cannot be a summon unit to count for the medal.

So, if you want to get the medal, they have to die in there anyway, action points hardly matter when you are dead. :)

I'm using Impulse version, with Hotfix. I upgraded from Armored Princess to Crossworlds.

I've even accidentally triggered the trap with my own dragons, and they lose their turn. :(

It stops the enemy from charging through and such. Are you sure you aren't just using really slow (initiative) units so it seems like them losing a turn doesn't matter as much?

I'm playing an Impossible Mage right now. Not sure if the class matters for this bug or not.

Ah. I need to specifically re-test #2.

Regarding #3, I almost never drop a random trap for fun. I always cast trap ONLY when I can pull/push an enemy into it and I calculate the precise level of trap to kill it AFTER my archmage telekinesis push/dragon crushing blow kick/dragon pull (emerald).

That's probably why it is hard for me to see this bug.

Any traps I had on the field to begin with get stepped on (not causing the bug).

And I suppose I rarely push enemies into traps if they have remaining AP.

I tried TRap in Orcs on the March, and it does halt units. I use Trap for this purpose mostly, it does nice damage, but unless you have high Intellect you won't kill much with it. It does stop units who step one step forward before attacking/running/summoning etc., like Giants or Demonologists.

Flying units doesn't lose AP when they step on trapped hex.

You can trap Dragons and griffins or anything flying that has feet if the trap is in their landing spot or if they walk into it. They wont get trapped if they fly over it (which makes sense as the trap is a bearclaw type thingy).

You cant trap ghost creatures at all, which is by design (they dont have substance).

Also the not loosing AP/turn issue is ONLY in the scenario when you knock or pull an enemy into a trap AND that enemy still has AP/turn. If the enemy walks into it himself traps work as expected (fine), but when you force them into it, it works half.

OK, I see. That's odd, because kicking/pulling an enemy into a trap should count the same as the enemy stepping into it.

I can confirm that in polish game, campaign orc march, traps do not work as expected. If you use droid with a harpoon, or use dragon kick ability or archmage teleportation to move enemy onto the trap, the trap will deal damage, but enemy will not lose AP/turn. If they go onto the trap in a normal way, it works ok.

Yeah, I seriously wanted to use the new Dragon of Chaos. At the rate I am going though, I will beat the game with demons, so I won't need the +1 morale. :)

The Trap bug is annoying the crap out of me and it does NOT look like it is slated as a "fix". :(

I was trying to use infernal exchange to swap enemies on top of traps, since fairies are "Soaring" and not affected by the trap.

Would be great if the enemy lost all of his AP too. I bet I could chain this too... IF it worked. :(

Well it's been exactly 2 months (I believe) since CW was released so...yep maybe we CAN get a patch before 2011.

patch has been released for steam games, everything seem to work normally, support for widescreen, a few fixes here and there, but now the game crashes when triying to look at the "Runic armor" talent of the rune mage, happens to someone else?

Gah! Since the 1.3.1 patch on Steam it seems that the Armored Princess Campaign is broken. The number of units you can have is greatly diminished, experience is very very small and the treasure that you get is also very small in comparison to the items that you can buy.

For example:

-Finished Denebir area and am only level 4, get about 200 gold a battle and most of my army units are in the single digits.

-Very few enemy units during battles. I think this accounts for the lack of gold and experience.

-Chests on the exploration area gives regular gold values, but even so I have been saving every gold coin aside from buying units and I still have only about 18,000 gold. Treasure searcher ability doesn't give very much gold either. FYI, I have not lost a single unit in battle...

-There seems to be minor glitches with cell highlighting when selecting where to attack with ranged attackers, moving units and so forth.

-Cant place bought traps, does this require Tactics? Otherwise useless until later on?

Crashes for me too. I restored from an old saved game though. I wonder if it makes a difference, but I doubt it. I can't believe the patch is somewhat Dead on Arrival for this one.

I hear the patch is starting to reach digital distributor versions of the game. Since proper support for 16:9 resolutions is a reallly important improvement, any chance the first game gets it anytime soon? If you look at new monitors sold, the ones with 16:10 resolutions are slowly but surely being phased out.

I don't think you really need one. Just get any Rune Mage. In non-combat mode. Double click portrait. Mouse over Runic Armor description.

I noticed mousing over "Runic" highlights Runic Armor as well. But when you mouse over Runic Armor, it will crash instead of displaying information.

A work around is to mouse-over the little status effect while in combat (the three little triangles), so you can see the same information.

That said, I attached the saved game anyway.

I have exactly the same problem. Started new game, moved mouse over Runic armor, game freezed, then crashed.

And there is another small problem with Favourite enemy description. Now it means that the first enemy that attacks your troop becomes favourite enemy but it's the other way round. Favourite enemy is the first enemy hit by your troop. just mentioning it, it's not a big deal.

I've been playing for the last week with the patch automatically applied by steam and I think they've done something with the randomness. I get many sets now. I've finished more than half of the game and found about 7-8 complet sets, some with 4 items. Very nice, very good move from their part.
