Are there fewer items and runes at higher difficutly levels?

I can't seem to decide which difficulty level to use (Normal vs. hard)

Played the original King's Bounty on Normal difficutly as a Paladin. Near the end of the game it became too easy and there was nothing left for me to spend gold on. Is Armored Princess/Crossroads more balanced (more challenging)than the first game?


Also, does the game give you fewer treasure spots, fewer spells, and fewer runes on higher difficutly levels?

Only differences in difficulty are exactly what it says on the 'choose difficulty' screen.

So yeah, that's it. Bigger fights, less money to fix mistakes with and buy early items with.

Level up is harder on higher difficulty, because the needed XP is bigger both for the hero and the petdragon
