Hi guys, this is rather a noob question.
Does army size (hero or guarding units) grow over time?
So is it good to be fast or does game time just affect high score?
thx milter

No, enemy army size is determined at the beginning of your game and it won't change after that.

Hum. This seems to be true; but I remember playing a game not too long ago where it was not true (i.e, the groups did grow over time). Alas I cannot remember the game (not too long ago could have been several years). I'm pretty sure KB-L was the same way (static) but what games do allow for dynamic growth ?

this is mostly true but not always
sometimes enemy armies grow
based on your unit count and combination
and sometimes even how many runes you spend
since i don't know the real factor for armies growing i can't tell u the details
but for example
i had a mage game
where i hardly used runes for a challenge
but for a gremlin fight i had too
before the i invested runes
the gremlin towers had 2k hp
(didn't check the units but i think those were fixed numbers)
after i invested runes and went to the same battle again
the gremlin towers had 5k hp lol
making it ALOT harder

I think you are more likely as not just mistaking which gremlin fight it was. LIke you upgraded a different item than you recall.
All armies on the maps are static at the very least, and nothing 'scales'. If Rune usage could have possibly made a difference, it would only have been the makeup of the army you fought. Since Gremlin towers are based on the size of the defending force, that could have, in hypothesis, changed them.
I really don't think it's true though.

I don't know about "special" fights like gremlin fights but regular armies on maps will never change.

Regular fights (hero and non-hero) never change composition, but gremlin fights do change. I can personally vouch for this as I had 2 flame necklaces that I suppressed in succession; one net me 2,743 XP while another net me 4,318 XP due to generating more enemies (see attached screenshots).

Well, that isn't really the question though, the question is whether or not suppressing the same flame necklace will ever have two different fights. Obviously two different items could have two different battles.

Gremlin suppression battles fluctuate; that is my point.
Check a couple of posts back; Razorflame already posted an instance wherein he fought the same suppression battle and got different results by simply changing the situation.
