Hello, I am new here so be gentle ;).

I know this is really bad because I haven't found anyone else that has asked, but I am stumped and quite frankly ready to give up on this game all together:evil:.

So please, will somebody tell me the trick to the Battle of Britian Single Mission "Escort"? I have tried, not kidding, about 30 times and just keep getting "Mission Failed - took to long".

I am not very good at this flying stuff, but I have completed the whole "Campaign" and the Battle of Stalingrad Single Missions.

Thanks in advance for any help.

hi welcome to the forum ............... hmmmm the only thing i can think of is, you're getting the "mission failed - too long" message is the aircraft that you're escorting has been shot down!!!!

at the start its a free for all and when you have to "escort" there will be a blue triangle that flashes, order you're flight to form up on you double down on the "d-pad", find the blue target (it will be getting harrased by 109's over the coastline) select a couple of targets once you've you have found the aircraft you're looking for you're flight will help you shot the enemy aircraft :D

hope's this is of any help and if im wrong someone correct me lol

many thanks scotty

I think scottyvt4 is correct- you might be getting the "Mission failed- took too long" message because the planes you need to escort are being shot down. After all, it is an escort mission, so how is it possible to actually take too long to escort a plane? It must be because it's getting shot down.

As he said, simply find the planes marked with the blue triangles and shoot down the 109's that are attacking them that are marked in red.

Also, what difficulty are you on?

It's too hard to pass.

There are 12 cargo plan to take care of, first wave of Bf109 is coming with almost 5 aircrafts, I ordered wingman to fight each of them 1 on 1 or ask wingman process the objective (Escorting). Either way I lose because they keep sending enemy aircrafts over again and again, and the 3rd wave is very sharp, I always only have 1 or 2 cargo plan left at that time.

It's too hard, I have been stuck there for 2 days.

What difficulty you're playing on is important.

It's sometimes easier to complete missions on sim/realistic because you either have less targets or you only have to damage the 109s to successfully fend them off.

what works for me is not to chase the enemy ac. i fly slack...back behind the transports or the russian leaders son ( thats later on ).. a few hundred feet and take my shots at what hits their 6. if i take them out...great but i will settle for making them break off and not chase them. several of missions try to sucker you away from an objective by making you chase them all over the country side. so just saddle up behind a wing and have at it. the enemy fighters dont seem to bother shooting you down if you are there either.

Yes this mission is best done on realistic I think it so badly buged in Arcade that you can not complete it .. You your wing man you can order one at time by a single press on D pad or entire flight by pressing twice . Also I found that heading towards thier field . and shoot it up and prevent any straglers wing men miss from landing.
