Hasn't happened to me yet, but then again, I haven't gotten my joystick and Tracking IR yet!! Once that happens, I'm screwed!

The easiest and best option is also the simplest one. Get the missus in to playing BoP. :D

Well I ended up getting myself a dirty great big entertainment laptop so I can play and socialise at same time. I got il2 1946 from steam. Going to get Wings Of Prey next.
I also got Wings Of Glory for iPhone to get some aerial combat going. Wish the iPhone had proper controls though.

I am very short on time now to get online with ps3. Usually a couple hours before sleep

Great Thread KAV I almost feel as if you are calling me out on this one !!!! could'nt resist posting on this one !! Sadly though it's to late for me I have no advice except that if you suspect ur wife is pissed unplug it and take it to work with u and everywhere NEVER leave it out of ur site ! All I have left are the wonderful memories of this beautiful game and the great friends I made. Sadly as of late I have degressed into slobbering, raging, alcholic who fights with his boss, family, friends and anybody else who wants to piss me off by saying hi. That game was one of my few releases. Anyway I think my Succubus (wife) has realized she has made a grave mistake. Before she went all .. As Chowbird called it "Lorena Bobitt" on my PS3 she had all the freedom in the world to do whatever she wanted with her friends and now after several "severe" verbal arguments I tell her ... Hey I gotta be n Hell so do you .... You ain't gonna go anywhere B!#*ch. So I think she may just be getting me another one soon:rolleyes: ......... Stay tuned.......

Problem:
Lack of hardware
Trash-TV steels my time from BoP. Just this second i had to give up on a CTA match with Gilly where we were in the lead, reason:
The Missus favours amongst others Desperate housewifes :!:

Her solution:
Buy another TV-set and PS3 and install it upstairs.
Wish I had the money for it.

My solution:
Hey honey I love you so much, heres a ticket to "somewhere" I think you deserve a vacation.
Shes of tomorrow and back sunday.
Additional:
Hey Mum, wanna spend some quality time with your grandkids ?
Are you sure, well what about having them from friday on ?

Result:
Me flying whenever I want to the next couple of evenings and nights :-):-):-):-)

Kav don't get ps3 and tv upstairs, that's what I did and the wife moaned non stop about me being anti social. I must admit 5 hours I'm bedroom most nights she had a point. Small LCD in same room be better solution trust me. I saw on amazon some 7" lcd designed for games machines. It's small but a good solution to play while the wife watches tv

Desperate housewives calls for desperate measures!

Thanks wookie for the advice. I wont buy another set even if I would get the money for it. Bet I had stayed upstairs forever :-)

Knowing my wife, she wont settle for an 7":rolleyes:

LOL well 7" pretty puny.

Another option could be some of those video eyewear on eBay. I bought a set last year for about £100 and they simulate 80" screen. 640 x 480 resolution so not exactly high def but they are ok for a couple hours here or there. Only problem is you look like Geordie laforge from star trek. That and fact may as well be in another room with the way they cut you off from reality

Kav........seems like your dangerously close to the edge my friend. If I were you I would invest in a good safe to store it in .... or keep hiding it in different places everyday like the F*&#kin Easter bunny hides eggs. A couple things I will say that had helped me in the past 1) 1 hr back massage = about 2-3 days of unintterupted flight time 2) couples therapy follow through with about half the advice = about a month worth of play 3) nice expensive dinner minus the "expected" sex afterwards = usually 1 full night of unintterupted night of flight time 4) and this is a biggie ..do dishes or give kids a bath = usually the remainder of the week plus a full weekend of unintterupted play...... So there you go take it for what's its worth ....... l would be interested to know if any of it works for u :-) ........

hello kav

exelent thread.

my tactics to fly in domestic peace:

-never play during the day, wait for the night she sleep.
-if she tell u :can i watch my favorite tv serie this evenning? u say :ok no probs darling,i will play after...after 1 or 2 times maybe she will let u play free
-i now learn how to function the dishes cleaner and the clothes cleaner...i can do the surprise to her
-never be angry when she watch tv and u can't play for this reason
-buy a second tv

i have the chance to have a wife who like ps3 and play call of duty, she can understand how i can be very buzy with a video game

joke(sex):always do your "DUTY OF HUSBAND" before play!!lol

i m sure u will find an arrangement with wife my friend!good luck!

lol...the more i think about it they do look a lot alike. cut from hollywood's idea of the "typical" aka perfect middle class wife/mother of the time. she would have let Ward play BoP all he wanted and not complained a bit. ahhh those were the days....

LOL that's a super thread KAV! Very interesting reading and learning all different tactics...

I keep flying in domestic place and peace by flying at night, when everybody in the house sleeps :-) So i don' t have to share TV with nobody else lol :-P
Olife strategy are great, that's why he's that good at this game ;)
Problem flying late at night is that i can't use headset and talk freely, i have to be quiet... enemy is listening! :-)

It can be a tough balancing act .I sure as hell don't have all the answers especialy if you have kids also.you can look at it so many differant ways.your not out drinking, gambling or whatever but to much of anything is not good 'they say'.iI have my setup down in my man cave and i love saying to my wife i'm going to hang out with the boys.
