I know some of you are less than happy with these vids on a site dedicated to Birds of Prey & so I will just stick to this one thread for any future WoP HD videos.

If anyone is upset about these vids being here just because of the name of the forum being different than the name of the game they came from has got issues. These movies are a treat for anyone who loves sim aviation or military flying in general.

Keep up the great work. HD = WIN!

Cheers Phlux. The sooner we see you in the skies of WoP, the better lol.

Very u/standable stealth. It's a crap situation when a team leaves one side project to make another better. I was in a situation whereby I just happened to upgrade the PC around late last year & so moved over to WoP.

Yesterday has seen another massive patch (0.7 GB) & this includes animated gears, very realistic scratched canopies that react when you look at the sun, option for realistic german liveries etc etc etc & yes ... WHY CAN'T THIS BE HAPPENING FOR BoP AT OR NEAR THE SAME TIME?
WoP wouldn't have been anywhere near as popular if it weren't for the loyal flight/game ppl that bought Birds of Prey.

Back to the vids. If anyone has any requests as did that P-51 guy (re: Hurricanes shooting down stuff) then let us know.

Thank you both for your usual & spirited words. Respect! ;)

You may have sold me (I'm a cranky 360 customer ;) ). Can you confirm there is no deadzone / decent number of online games / better graphics then the console version? I love the game to death, but finding a game is impossible the hours I'm on (and even a pain during normal hours), the dead zone makes fine tuning shots impossible, no brakes so CA mode is hard, no take off or landings, and the kill-score tracking is terrible.

I believe they mentioned join a game in progress on the way and co-op as well? Did they use BOPs soundtrack (great score!).

I'll drive straight to Fry's and put together a system if all this is so! :)

I can't help you with the online questions because I'm primarily a single player & as yet, have not even felt the need to even try out the online play because the single player gameplay is so good. With the right PC, Wings of Prey is a stunning experience & is far, far superior than Birds of Prey in every aspect. The gameplay is very much improved with fantastic handling with all fighters including the P-51D; the graphics are incredible & are being added to & bettered with each patch. The recent patch this week (over 700MB) fixed a ton of online issues aswell as (mentioned above), graphical improvements like fully animated & reactional wheels, realistic scratches that appear within the cockpit glass when exposed to sunlight, swashtikas on liveries, the list is endless.
Every aircraft is unlocked & available from the start, including the P-47, the new LaGG 3-35 & Yak-7B & the beautifully fun-to-fly P-40E-1 (latter is a dlc that costs under 3 GBP).
There is now a third person view option for SIM players & an option to save entire mission replays. The playback views are ok but still basic (no flyby as yet but that is coming in a future patch, along with a possible addon that enables users to create & make their own liveries).

A mission builder has been announced for the months ahead & this will help to make WoP a long-staying game with endless amounts of replayability.
The deadzone issue, as you would expect is null & void & if there was an issue with your stick, there are so many control settings that you would soon have it rectified.
There is support for all PC joysticks & perepherals. I use a cockpit combination of pedals, standalone throttle & flightstick aswell as track ir & no setup was involved with any of it, other than to assign custom assignments to buttons.

Compared to IL-2 (1946 etc), it's still inferior at the moment but with each patch improvement, the gap is closing. There's talk of take off & landing being made an option but even now, many of the single missions aswell as all the Battle of Britain campaign missions give the players the option to start on the ground.

Still no bomber cockpits or gunner, bombadier stations but hey!! Hope this goes a little way in answering some of your questions.

There is a demo available over at yuplay.com & the limitation is not being able to run the demo at full graphics settings.

Wait. The P-40 is only available as DLC? DLC published at the same time as the game? SCREW THAT!

WHATTT???? You get all the planes of BoP from the start, inc P-47 & that German Ta a/c, with twice the amount of cockpits, 2 brand new a/c (LaqGG 3-35 & YaK 7b) plus an unbroken P-51D with correct cockpit, mission replays, blah, blah & all unbroken & for under £30 ... & u moan that the 1st DLC a/c is out just after release for a mammouth £2.80.

How much did the poor BoP guys have to pay for one measly a/c & a bunch of single-palyer missions that can be readily made on WoP when the new mission builder arrives? (£7.99).

The amount of free patches WoP has received since the astronomically over-priced P-40 () has included fully animated landing gear & wheels, added camera views, realistic cockpit scratches etc etc.

Hey buddy; SCREW THAT THEN!!! The loss ain't mine!!!

So does WoP have the I-53 Chaika available? I can't believe I forgot to ask about it. I'm sure it does in the actual game, but I don't know about the Beta? If it does, could you possibly make a short little video of it. :D

Hi Ace. If you mean the I-153P Chaika (Seagull) then yes. Every a/c that is present in BoP will be found in WoP along with Ta-152, P-47, the Yak & LaGG (as you know) & P-40 (DLC).

I will certainly provide you with a small sample vid of the Chaika when I have the time. ;)

I'm just sick and tired of developers trying to get more money out of their game by taking something they developed at the same time as the original game and expecting you to pay more to get the whole thing. I have no problem with the price of later DLC packs. I bought the BoP one after all.
Those patches sound cool. Unfortunately, my PC is at the low end of what will run WoP so I won't notice stuff like that anyway. There aren't enough new planes shipping with the game for it to be worth it if it doesn't really look any better than BoP on my PC. I had hoped for many more planes than BoP, but if there's only a few and you have to pay for some of them, then I'm just not interested.

Have any of you ever considered that the flight sim scene is such a nitche market that they have to do things a certian way so that they can make money to complete the game ?

You have a couple small dev houses out there making games like WOP and ROF and its very clear that they don't have the funding to finish the game 100% , the only way you will EVER even see the game they are making , is for them to sell the core of the game then take the money from those sales and use it to continue making the game and then selling add on planes and such , to enable them to continue the evolution of the game.

Yet it seems people don't understand that and then don't support the game that is being made just for them ! It blows my mind that people don't understand that.

You can say what you like , we all have our own opinions on things, but I just see less and less Combat sims, Thank heavens we have a Mod community or we would be playing 10 + year old games that never got better.

I love this nitche market and if the only way I can get new games is to buy the game as its still being made then that is what I will do.
The alternative is to Bleak for me.

Thanks a lot Hawk. :) I would have done it myself, but my paychecks have become a little light lately, and it's a bitch. :( Anything you have in the video, I'm sure to love. Just get A LOT of cockpit shots, so I can see if it's accurate? Thanks again my good friend.
