hello all... lurking for a month or so and playing too using the info i've read gleaned from the posters here.

went through the game in arcade before i ventured into the online world which i thoroughly enjoy and much to my surprise i'm on the leader board for CTA and S !!!!!! just a little toot of my own horn there :grin:

but of course i don't compare to the big gun aces that dominate the arcade portion where i play and i always seem to end up flying against which i do enjoy even though they just think of shooting me down and it happens :grin:

and actually i enjoy being in the games against the best and especially in D as i use it to try and learn from them. i follow the ace that's on someone's 6 shooting them full of holes... as i struggle to just keep the ace in my view, let alone crosshairs. sometimes i'll try and shoot the ace but more often than not it bring their attention, focus, and fire on me :grin:

i've noticed that a lot of the aces have mics and they tend to be very courteous and not blurt out what they must be thinking while they are riddling me full of holes... i thank them for that and i thank them for tolerating us rookies being on their team and carrying us to Mission Completed.

Back on topic though - Its good you can fly and learn on your chosen difficulty and still enjoy the session. A learning curve if you will :) One day you should try the step up to sim mode and play with a few of us. Maybe just a free flight (no shooting each other down, just simple flying together) so you can get to grips with it and see how each plane performs differently. It makes the game so much more fun.

Though ultimately its a case of each to their own :D

About your question, I could not answer it. Perhaps one of the Xbox to PS3 converters can give you a better explanation, try MIRGERVIN for example. :D

I all fairness -

If i play someone who plays arcade alot (not an ace) on arcade difficulty, then withouth a doubt they will win hands down. They will slaughter me. Why i don't know :( but arcade i cannot play at all, i get beaten by everyone.

Now if i play that same player on sim mode, then the tables turn. I will beat win. The gap between arcade and sim is huge, And its pretty much common knowledge that us sim players are out of our depth on arcade mode haha.

I really would like to get involved with Sim but I find most Sim players I meet online are die hard fans & players, so Sim rookies just get shot down very quickly, with no way of gaining any experience . I realize that that is how it would be in a real life situation. (survival of the fittest so to speak! ) Maybe we need to attend a Sim flight school?:grin::grin::grin:

Stick low to the ground and use the map a lot. It's usually first to see the target wins on sim, although keeping the target in view is important.

And having recently learned that the aviator layout for controller isn't available on XBox, I don't see how you could stand a chance against someone with a flight stick... I certainly couldn't/wouldn't play sim with the default controller configuration.

How old are you?

You need to get off your high horse i think and see that theirs no anamosity or hatred in this thread! Just friendly banter between forum regulars. If you dont like it then i suggest in future you do not start threads off.

Sim guys have openly said (read up i posted it in here!) that the arcade guys are good at what they do, and the arcade guys have said we are good at what we do. We all get along as a group and respect each other.

Please keep it on a decent level and perhaps join in the banter :D

FYI, there are arcade aces aplenty - winny and dkwookie being 2. If you check your arcade tourney thread you'll find them mentioned there I believe - along with your lack of humour.

The 2 aces I mentioned are great and valued members of this community, as no doubt are many others. It's just that I don't make a point of noting who plays what, but I do happen to remember particularly painful spankings from both of them in arcade.

I have never met with any elitism by anyone on this forum. If somebody says they only play Sim, that's because they enjoy it!
Likewise with Arcade or realistic, i don't feel there is any need to justify one as being above other, we all enjoy different things!;)
