*First post:mrgreen:
I recently started the game and was thoroughly impressed by the Historical Cockpit View, but was slightly disappointed that not all the planes had this option.
I understand that it would take a lot of work to make such a detailed view for every single plane, so I would just like to know which planes actually have the historical cockpit view available?

Perhaps someone would be so good as to post a list for my/our reference?

Cheers

Yak-1

La-5FN
La-7

Spitfire Mk II
Spitfire Mk IX

I-16 Type 24

Hurricane Mk II (It's a Mk II right?)

Il-2
Il-2M
Il-10

That's all of them I think?

EDIT: Fixed for corrections.

Hmm, so only the playable planes from the campaign have the cockpit view?

Basically, only Russian, American, and British planes?

I guess that means I won't have a cool cockpit view for my favorite German planes... :(

Yep - the thrill of unlocking that favourite German plane is tempered by knowing you won't be able to sit in the cockpit.
We can only hope that the missing cockpits are coming out as DLC (alluded to in previous posts by developers).

Well BoP in the beginning, wasn't meant to have all the planes it does now; so there were limited cockpit models, yes. But from what we've been told in the past couple months, and beyond, German cockpits and the rest may come in an update or DLC? (Something like that?) But no date or mention of it has been said by anyone lately.

Though the new WoP (Wings of Prey) for the PC (which is BoP basically) has all the plane models as BoP, with all the planes having cockpits. Including other planes added in as well.

There's already a thread named: What BoP should have been, and shows some videos and still shots of planes.

One more thing-- upon closer inspection of my IL-2 Sturmovik instruction manual, I read the following:

"Please note that cockpit views are available for all of the flyable planes included in the game with the exception of the Bristol Blenheim, the Douglas A-20G Havoc, and the Messerschmitt Bf109F-4."

Doesn't that mean that the other German planes(Stuka Ju87 and the He-111) would have the cockpit view? I'm very confused.

Also, the manual evan adds on the next page:

"Again, cockpit views are available for all the flyable planes with the exceptions of the Bristol Blenheim, the Douglas A-20G Havoc, and the Messerschmitt Bf109F-4."

Well, it says that the cockpit views are available for all the flyable planes. Does that mean only planes flyable in the campaign?? Wouldn't that exclude the Bf109? (Unless you can play as it in the campaign mode; I have no idea since I haven't finished the campaign)

Help a noob once more?

The 109F is flyable in a singleplayer mission as a captured russian plane, the german bombers arn't flyable in single player. So its saying all flyable planes (In single player) have cockpits with those three plane being the exception. I agree its quite misleading in not stating single player only.

The cockpits were promised as DLC (free) at a later date, shortly after the patch i believe?

Though how things will work now i've no ide to be honest. Best bet is to play it by ear and keep checking for updates. Someone will know something soon enough.

Thanks again to everyone; that instruction manual sure did confuse me.
