Hello chaps!
I've been hearing gossip that when you fighting a multi-player game online, & lagging occurs, this is somehow often engineered by some unscrupulous bounder posing as an ace pilot!
(using some form of device on their modem!)
Fellow pilots have been saying that they are getting rather riled up at this behavior!
Any truth that these matters could be happening?
If so the cads should be named & shamed!
Gossip is rife in the mess at the moment!

Hey Mark IDeJIa here this is known as a lag switch often used on the more polished games (Call of Duty, Halo 3) but to be honest i wouldn't be surprised if it was just the servers as the small support we get from the devs or publisher they might not maintain them.....
also want to some formation flying tonight?

The game only uses the xboxlive/PSN servers to connect players together and leaderboards. There is no "game server" The host acts as the server for the game. If the hosts connection is slow or over long distance you will see more lag the more people are in the game until the game is unplayable.
You can quite easily see when someone uses a lag swich as it is only that one person who is lagging and only when someone is lining up behind them to shoot them down.
I've only seen one lag switch user in BoP since the game was released. It was an arcade game. The guy no longer plays BoP either.
By now I would think its quite unlikely you would find a lag switcher on this game and certainly not in realistic or sim mode. Most people that are still playing this game now are people who are here for the fun of flying against friends and having a laugh, Not people who rate achievements and score ubove all else.
