View Full Version : Post Patch Weirdness

Ok I noticed a couple of strange things in arcade mode after the patch.

First is the crash dynamic in water. On two ocassions I have been chasing a plane over water and clearly seen the other plane go underwater and then continue climbing. First time this happened I stopped firing and waited for the crash or kill notification come up but nothing came up. Second time it happened I continued firing and killed him into his climb.
I never encountered this before the patch.

Second issue is the crash bug. Get a kill on someone who then develops the crash bug and you sometimes get a kill awarded every time he crashes.

These two scenarios are rare but wondered if anyone else experienced them

Hi there.

Dunno if if your first experience was chasing me, but I had a similar incident.
As I had someone on my six I was toggling target camera a bit to much causing my dive going to low. As I released target camera I was a BIT to close to surface and my left wing touched the water making my plane shift leftwards but somehow I didnt crash and was able to continue my climb :eek:

I saw the water one last night too, I've heard of flying boats but never flying submarines...

As for the crash bug, It reckon that it's something to do with the respawn bug (where you respawn and die at the same time) and the timer for kills. I think because they die straight away you get the kill because it's still within the time limit for it to count. (I'm guessing)

I've been on the recieving end of this and I spawned, then exploded and went round in a loop till it'd happened 7 times and each time my original killer was credited with the kill. If you wait till the respawn timer reaches 0 and then add a few seconds it seems to break the cycle tho.

One thing I've noticed post patch is that mid air collisions are happening where you don't actually touch, maybe it's the same problem as the water issue.

iv seen that too DK and iv also noticed in sim that when u shoot sumone & they crash because of the damage. u stil dnt always get the kill when theres no doubt u should av.
p.s iv enter the tourny 4 nxt year i should b on ur team so rogue sqadron is BACK! RED 6 out.

I'd really hope that the crash on respawn bug hasn't been 'fixed' by utterly nerfing the collision detection. That would be lame. =/

No need to worry.. the crash on respawn bug hasn't neem fixed at all!
As for collision detection, I can't say I've noticed anything weird, although I have noticed that the AI now seem to be able to bounce off the water if they go into a spin at low altitude
