It all depends who are you fighting against, but which is better in general?
boots with 15% phisical resist. or
boots with +2 defence

the defense since % hardly matters in KB:TL

Huh? I'm sorry, the other way around.

Resistance I found to be much better. It detracts from the total damage inflicted, meaning physical attacks will do much less damage to your units. This is especially obvious to see on creatures who already have some form of physical resistance, like Ghosts or Knights and Dragons. With the boots (or the Slippery Cuirass), they become even more sturdy.

+2 Defense let's face it, hardly matters as much as 15% resistance. Except of course, against enemies that inflict different types of damage.

I usually change my gear depending on whether I will need magical resistance (Cloak of the Wizard +20%), Physical, or Poison (Sun Cloak). Magic res. is especially very usefull against Gremlin Towers.

maybe that depends on high much damage there is then?

on low levels let's say a unit would do 3 damage

15% of that is rather useless

and a +2 def would be better

but whereas

a unit would do 1000k damage

then the phys resis would be better :)

it's debatle;)

That's the best solution anyway... :) I used Ogre Boots and Shimmering Boots together myself (though more for the +1 speed to Trolls then for defense)

15% physical damage resistance is better than +2 defense.

In most cases, where the enemy deals physical damage, resistance is better.
PROOF: Each point of defence reduces damage by 3.3%. Obviously, you would rather have 15% than 6.6% resistance.
