Ok, maybe I'm an idiot but I cannot get through this damn mission. Can someone please explain step by step? Talk to me like I am 3 years old.

Do I issue an orders to wingmen at all? What Ive been doing is attack first group. Then when the next group appears I switch planes and head for second group, let that fighter attack. Then switch planes again and head for third group and so on...But every time I switch planes the others break off and start to follow the plane I just selected.

Are my wingmen idiots or is their leader?

Whew! Thx

make sure you get them to attack "primary" targets and not "selected" target.

to attack primary i think its - down on d-pad (select squadron) then right on d-pad (attack primary targets).

if you have them attacking selected target then they will attack, but once you start to attack your own target then the target for them will switch to yours.

You will pass this mission soon enough, just takes time and patience :D keep at it.

This mission seems to want you to be in three places at once in order to win. I had to crank it down to arcarde in order to beat it. Tried about 30 times on realistic, mostly failing because "you took too long."

Stop picking your nose.... No, NO.. DON'T eat that? Git off that. Put that down!!!.. Drink all your milk... Don't spill your milk, it won't work, I will just get you more... Eat your vegitables.... Stop playing with yourself!!! Do you have to go pee? You didn't just crap in your pants did you? If you do that again, I will put you back in diapers!!!

Sorry... But you DID say to talk to you like a 3 year old, <grin>

Other than that, I can't help, because I am stuck on that one too..

Same for me. I tried and tried and tried on realistic, as I'd done everything up to this point on realistic, but I just couldn't do it. The planes take so much more of a beating and I think you need to one hit kill them all.

What makes it extra annoying to keep re-starting is the really long flight at the start to the first target.

As soon as the mission starts, order your entire flight to get on with the mission (down on the d-pad, then right). They will all target the only objective on the radar. You can then head slightly to the left and another target will appear. Then go from there...

Also, when you bring up the map, you can choose which of your flight you want to control on the right of the map screen. This effectively lets you "teleport" around the map (assuming your flight aren't in formation). I'm not sure what happens to your plane when you do this though - I think the AI resumes control.

It says in the encyclopedia that if you open the map and select another plane that once you send that plane to a specific target it will continue the attack and then you should be able to switch to another plane etc. It doesnt seem to work for me for some reason. They always seem to break the attack and follow whatever plane I jump in next.

I will try again later. Frustrating as hell though

you can jump to other planes? How do you do that?

Just in the single missions. Open the map and use the arrow keys up and down to select a different airplane. It's just for planes in your flight though (green on the minimap).

Finally finished this mission but I had to do it in arcade. I will keep trying in Realistic.

Tips: Others said it before but when the mission starts do not use any commands to your wingmen except DPAD: down + right

Attack first group yourself. Then once you take those 2 planes out head your plane towards another target group then pull up your map and switch to a plane that is closest to the other targets. Your wingman will already be next to that target, take control and kill them yourself. Keep repeating this.

The key is the down + right and switching planes.

Also when your in the map use the up down arrows to select a different pilot but be sure to look at the left of your map, it shows a red plane icon for that pilots aircraft. I didn't see this the first 10 times I tried for some reason.

Has anyone done this on any difficulty other than arcade? Is it even possible?

Because on arcade your plane can fly a helluva lot faster than it should be able to and you can pretty much one hit kill the targets. And even then it is a hard(ish) mission.

Anyone else think the fail condition is bugged? It just seems to arbitrarily fail you for some reason. It's not like one of the target planes has left the map or anything...

Fortunately, it's not required for any unlocks to complete it on anything other than arcade, but it's annoying to have it as the only bronze badge.
