I did try to give clod a chance but i was getting low fps. I did manage to join a multiplayer game though and did a bit of dogfighting i followed a 109 down low and i sort of lost him in a forest he flew though i thought strange why didnt he crash but before i could find him i got a ctd. So if anybody has any tips to improve my gameplay experience on clod so i dont ctd and stuff ill give it another shot.

I only fly it full real.

The FMs are dubious and the DMs have always been suspect.
It's lack of depth of content, it's poor GUI, awful implementation of human control of gunners, are problems.

And it still looks like a pastel post card to me, though it is better than it was on release.

Oh, and why is it always a clear sunny day?

And "The Front" is still a lifeless gray strip 3 years in.

We still have fun flying it, but as I said, as soon as CloD gets on it's feet, we will move on.

So you have flown real ww1 figters to compare the FM?
DMs i could say that about clod aswell
Rear gunners work ok for me and mates
Lack of depth of content career mode campaign mode?
pastel post card but no stutter like there is in clod
Last time i played clod it was a sunnyday aswell?
The towns and ports in clod seem lifeless too no body walking about?

And anyway why do you need to compare the two sims.? And if you did have to compare one sim to the other i would simply say one works and the other dont. I didnt come here to troll or flame i come here to try to tell you there are other sims out there apart from clod so why not go have some fun on them and leave the devs to get on with it

This made me LOL.

Seriously though, I hope they're embarrassed at this point, it's been over a year, and the game is still not something I would consider ready for release. It's just... bizarre.

So predictable.

And just like SimHQ, go straight for the personal attack on anyone who dares point out R0F's flaws.

Added to ignore list.

Be sure.

Sorry to say it but: Someone needs to be fired, either the coder or the managment because in the end it IS someone's fault. You cant run a company like this...

Im a fan of that list as well.

Let me rephrase his little rant.
What leads you to believe that the FM/DM's are suspect? Its difficult to find detailed, rock solid info on WW2 aircraft, I cant imagine its any easier for the warbirds of the great war, and not many pilots to ask either.

As to the appearance, I guess we just agree to disagree. I quite like the way it looks.

Also, did warplanes of that era do much flying during bad weather?

PM me if you feel like it, kinda off topic...

How is it foolish to think like this when there is evidence from IL2 that they are capable of making a good flight sim? This is a total turn around from what we know they are capable of doing. One year later and still no results is a bit of a joke for a paying customer if you ask me.

A lot of changes have happened over the last few years, including Oleg leaving. Draw your own conclusions from that, but what makes you think they havent already made other significant changes to the team. Its publicly known that the team is now bigger and different than it was before CLOD was released originally and its pain staking work to go through someone elses code. It takes time to fix but at least they are committed to fixing it. The other option was to abandon the project which they clearly have not done. They are committed to making this the highest fidelity WW2 flightsim ever and Im very hopeful they will get there.

See above... yes it was broken, no one has denied that, but they are committed to fixing it. We all wish the circumstances were different, but we are where we are and they have a plan to fix it. Thats about all we can hope for. If your really that dissatisfied, take it up with the publisher. If like most of us you want to see it succeed, just have a little more patience.

The game was under development for years and they are trying desperately to rewrite a lot of code in only 1 year. Maybe they dont deserve a fair-go from the community, but if you want this series to succeed, thats your only option. Otherwise it might be time for those that dont have the patience to move on and leave the frustration behind you. Its only a game.
