OK maybe I am with stupid, it is the first MOD I install in CoD but the engine sounds of the Bf109 and Spit do not seem to work.
Everything was installed correctly, I see the new pictures on the screen. I checked by running launcher with the -dump option and looked at which files are loaded when flying a Bf109 (in the _dump\$core\samples directory). It loads files (so it is working) but none of the Daimler.wav sound objects. Did anybody have bigger success than me? EDIT: SOLVED! I had removed the whole directory instead of removing only the .fmb ![]() Nice sounds! Last edited by 335th_GRAthos; 06-10-2011 at 03:28 PM. |

You don't have any sounds at all?
I went ahead and charged into this last night intoxicated and was able to manage it ok. I think it's working. Sounds a lot better. |

They do sound very good, but I am very much curious as to what flight model modifications have to do with a soundmod? Their presence alone and the stuff they modify (I'll keep my speculations to myself to avoid a flamefest) makes me wary of ulterior motives ... Can anyone explain why fmd files need to be modified to make use of different sounds?

The reason why is that there's a direct reference to engine sound file within the .emd file.
So you currently MUST modify the .emd file for implementing or tweaking a sound filename (which IMHO is a poor implementation choice, since FM-related files shouldn't be concerned by potential sound mods). It's that simple... |
