Yes the Spitfire Mk IIa throttle indicator (the little black ball) is indicating wrong things. In the middle in full power!

The Spitfire speedometer needles are stuck together. They do not separate when speed increases over 240 mph.

(Deleted earlier post Bombsight was in metric, but dispersion seems to be much higher now)
Never mind, I forgot to adjust for wind. -Bombsight in He111 is blurry and unreadable -Bombs seem to land/explode in reverse order? Is this intended? -Bomb sight automation seems to mark the impact point for the last bomb, is this intended? -No indication when bombs will drop/have been dropped in bombsight automation He111P2 has old sounds

Bomb sight is somewhat more manageable than it was in previous version, but it's not very accurate.

My observations after 2 hours offline in a Spitfire Ia; some already mentioned, some not:
We seem to have traded a lot for higer FPS. I've removed the patch for now, but looking forward to the release version. |

- still large stutters and jumping around of landscape while game loads land textures (tested with single mission '005 - Cross-Country')
- large red square when full screen is set to on. In Pseudo the square does not appear - AI: too much to mention. A complete overhaul of AI is needed to bring it up to par with il2 4.11.1 - Changing formation or spacing is executed too quickly. Wingmen sometimes collide. - AI: changing formations, e.g. when wingman moves to your six o'clock to provide cover are far too sudden and defy physics. Sometimes they seem to halt in mid air and to hit some magic brakes. - radio commands: a lot of work needs to be done. Some items still do not work. Auto pilot seems to be a real auto pilot that cannot be influenced. Issueing "attack fighters" does nothing and AP follows pre-scripted scenario. - Viewing aircraft (f2) and rotating the view is slow and sluggish. - CTD: sometimes changing your viewpoint with mouse generates a CTD. Launcher stopped responding... - Sound hiccups: engine sounds sometimes change for no reason (distance stays the same, angle of view point). - Propellor animation is poor. Frames seem to be missing. Propellors animation stops and half a second later it spins again. - Textures look washed and less detailed. - Loading of textures in cockpit while mission starts is very slow and it takes at few seconds before cockpit is completely drawn. - icing up of cockpit windows has been simplified. - fps: somewhat higher fps. Difference between high fps and minimal fps looks to be better however and no longer seems to go to single digits. - edit: mirror still does not work (using 12.4 ATI and vid card (see sig)) In all, very, very disappointing. I expected a lot more of this patch and I can't believe it has taken them 6 months.

Anyone who has frequent crashes try disabling HyperThreading in BIOS.
Does it make any difference? |
