To move map put curser on border, hold down left and right mouse buttons together and drag - simples.

I like the borderless, non-beta map. I don't like this new one.

It would be nice to be able to control the maps transparancy.

Actually the "P" button enables you to mark a waypoint on the map at your point of interest by left clicking the mouse. You have the choice of eight different icons to use and you can also add a label. The time is marked with the waypoint automatically.
A handy little feature.

My tools show half of a fourth button marked B but I haven't worked out how to expand the tools box to see if there are any more.

The map's fine. The border is horrible, it looks incredibly out of place (probably because it's a decade old texture) compared to the rest of the UI and takes up loads more screen space.

Of all the things to port over from Il2 1946, the map border wasn't one of them. Of course, this is just my opinion, but I put this here to encourage a community fix as one is unlikely to be forthcoming from 1C.
